Toddler recipes and ideas with Gerber 3rd Foods Lil’ Bits- Fruit Parfait

Toddler Times are ahead. Prepare with easy recipes!

So let’s talk toddler. It blows my mind that something my little guy loves one day? Creates him to act like POSION has entered his body the next time he tries the SAME THING. It was endearing the first few times, and now it is just a sad/funny depending on my sleep deprivation.

We recently purchased a bunch of pouches and Gerber 3rd Foods Lil’ Bits’ for our travels as – I was going to consume a lot of fast food! Then a few weeks after I landed an invite to be a part of recipes with Gerber and since most people who follow me know how I feed the little man, I was going to pass it on by at first: but I wanted to share a recipe and some ideas if you have a little one entering the world of solids! Not just for convenience of travel as we use it, but daily life as you start to introduce more and more whole pieces this is a great option to transition to table foods.

toddler first foods

Around 7-8 months we finally introduced whole milk plain yogurt to our little mans life. It is HIS FAVORITE breakfast, and at first a small half serving was good. Then the entire serving…. now ?? He still seems starving so I wanted to bump up the volume of his favorite solid- while adding awesome nutrition as well.

Fruit Parfait- For Toddlers!

I am sure everyone has run into the toddler banging on his high chair waiting for instant food- so you can prep this parfait in advance like I did before our travels, or it literally takes seconds to build.

  • Your choice of Yogurt – Highly recommend the whole milk plain yogurt they usually have little to no added sugar at our store!
  • Gerber lil bits’ of your choice- We love the Banana Apple Mango here.

Ok – Now you layer! haha or just mix it all together and GO!

I like to layer it only because I love fruit on the bottom yogurts- so I like to feed him a little of each sort of separate and sort of mixed… I know- Kind of weird over here but that is what makes it fun 😉

easy toddler meals

Our next favorite way to sneak fruits and veggies in is a Toddler SMOOTHIE!

  • Ok – Pick your favorite Lil Bits’s flavor like Banana Apple Strawberry, or Apple Blueberry
  • Now you can choose to add other pureed veggies- but I use our Ninja so I personally have used kale and spinach leaves as that blender pulverizes everything so fine and smooth for us.
  • Then you can choose a few things-  Juice, Breast milk or Formula ( mixed up not just powder), or water as your liquid.

You can choose a little or a lot and change up what you add to fit your little ones nutritional needs, as always talk to you Medical provider to ensure what is right for your little one!

I usually add a little water and yogurt, or breast milk. I guess it is a milkshake then 😉 and freeze the extra. I like to let him sip on this when he has decided the food being served is not for him- Then i know he is at least getting something.

Ahhh, this is such a good idea!! So many kids absolutely LOVE yogurt, and sneaking the fruits and veggies into that is so genius! I’m constantly making smoothies for my little guy, haha. Thanks for sharing! <3
