Support Wounded Warriors

I have always been a proud supporter of anything military related. To me it is never about the war, only the warrior. I think that is why I have always been so eager to participate in Wounded Warrior Project events, buy things in support, etc. They are a non-partisan group, and focused on the soldier. They actually say ” It is about the warrior, not the war”. I actually found out about this race through Heather’s blog, where she explains the app you use to run – Sociercise. You should check it out! –Here

Wounded Warrior Project provides support and encouragement to injured service members. Proceeds from this event will go toward WWP’s 18 programs and services which are uniquely structured to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement. Over 47,000 servicemen and women have been injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment. These heroes didn’t run when their country called upon them. Now it is our turn to run or walk in support of this great organization, Wounded Warrior Project. – via the WWP Charity Run page

*I will likely have to walk, a lot. My podiatrist appointment is on the 11th, and my feet hurt!

Happy Happy Friday everyone! The hubs and I are headed over to Mr. Olympia expo this weekend. Expect a full recap next week, Body builders/ fitness models have taken over our hotel! It is not only intimidating, but SO cool. My month in Vegas is going to need a LARGE summary review I think. Hehe.

What are your plans for the weekend?
