Sun sand and summer treats
I don’t crave dessert any time quite like summer time, and My husband seems to be the same. A cold summer treat sitting outside watching our little guy run around? Nothing beats that perfection.
Except when we started to notice the sugar effects of more cravings and ” oh no is that 780 calories a SERVING!?”
We have been mostly dairy free except for the occasional ice cream treat for almost a year now, so our summer indulgences were hitting us hard in other ways than just a ton of sugar.

Our local Albertsons finally started stocking Arctic Zero a few months ago, and we both pick out a pint or two each shopping trip. You can find them in most Targets too!
Arctic Zero- is guilt free. An entire pint is less than ten crackers for some flavors and the other flavors that are 300 calories for a whole Pint? I seriously LOVE sitting and eating the whole pint free from food guilt.
Speaking of food guilt: it’s why we quit our diet that I used to talk about all the time. Did it work? Yes. Did we go crazy? Yes! I hated feeling guilty every time something wasn’t compliant and decided I will find alternatives to make my favorites healthier- but I need to be happy eating it.
If it doesn’t bring me joy- why do it?
This flexible mindset has kept us on our healthy choices path choosing alternatives that we still enjoy but just better for our health.
Arctic Zero.
So do I love all the flavors? No. Some are not “strong” enough for me is the best way to put it. I just prefer to taste more Cherry in the Cherry chocolate chunk, but dang is there an incredible amount of huge chocolate chunks in there!
The one I didn’t think I would love but ended up being my favorite was the Peanut Butter swirl! It had perfect ribbons of peanut butter laced through, with little bits I can assume were PB chips? I don’t know; I ate it way faster than I expected as I do not enjoy peanut butter dessert 95% of the time.
A quick rundown of the general perks of Arctic Zero- I mean even post workout the protein in these is a great addition!
- 150-300 calories for a whole PINT!
- Lactose-free, (some) gluten free, and all Fat-Free
- Protein fiber and low glycemic index so your keeping cravings at BAY
- SO many flavors
- The daily fiber in each serving!
Tips:
Let it melt 15 minutes or microwave. You will be sad if you don’t. ( and missing out on awesome creamy goodness potential, I tried it both ways, HUGE difference)
It is not going to be your favorite cookie chocolate marshmallow loaded pint- don’t compare. It is fewer calories for a whole pint than a few spoon fulls of our last favorite ice cream. No seriously. Being flavored with Monk fruit, it is low glycemic, AND protein and fiber? Might as well toss it in my protein shake some days!

We enjoyed taking it on a road trip, yes in the desert, to sled at White Sands National Park! Since they need that melting time, I figured our cooler with ice it would be good- ended up putting too much ice and just setting them in the sun to hurry it up.
I’m talking desert sun blistering down? The sand is cold to the touch. It’s unique sand and we had a blast sledding there this summer!
We all especially enjoyed this treat after running up and down those hills!
I can gift 3 Arctic Zero samples out! Leave a comment on what flavor you would buy to enter to win one!
