Plant based food review: Alpha Burritos

This mom needs easy healthy food. I have a newborn that nurses 24/7 and does not like to leave that milk bar so – I am back to one hand everything. Sort of. I use a baby carrier but while cooking that is not going to work, so I usually starve until my husband gets home for lunch or dinner for me to eat something.

I mean I guess I could set the baby down but, hey he still smells like a fresh new baby and I can’t handle seeing him sad.

(Sponsored post) I partnered with Moms Meet and Alpha foods this time to try their Alpha burritos! They sent me a gift card to Walmart to purchase burritos and provide you with this review- as always my opinions are my own.

Alpha Foods is a company I have never heard of! Why? I have been on whole foods only kick and frankly frozen food is too close to the Ice Cream aisle of temptation.

I used this link to find which Walmart near me had the most variety of burritos and went with the closer one because they had two.

Philly Sandwich Burrito and Mexicali.

So since I do not see myself food prepping unless its weekend and all hands on deck, Alpha frozen foods has become a staple for me and my toddlers’ lunches. Gasp YES the suddenly ‘I turned two and used to eat anything you gave me”  toddler who refuses to eat everything even things he loves — will eat a Philly ‘steak’ burrito like it is no one’s business.

The Vegan lifestyle is not one we live – but if I am buying processed foods, shampoos, face products etc. We pretty much follow this label around.

Plant Based

We started doing meatless meals a few times a week to shrink our food budget, now we just enjoy it!

Alpha foods are made with 100% plant-based ingredients, for those who want to change the way they eat all the time or just sometimes. The best thing is it is freaking delicious and none of us could tell there were no animal products involved.

They say no to more than just animal products:

No GMOs, Cholesterol, Hormones, Corn Syrup, and artificial preservatives too!

Delicious, nutritious and convenient meals for your lifestyle: that’s what makes us the Alpha of plant-based foods.

Honestly – You would have no idea this was meat and animal product free. The textures are spot on for burritos and flavor is delish!! I seriously had a hard time when I told myself I was only going to have one for the day and try to eat a salad for another meal? I went one day eating 3 of these just because well.. newborn and a 2-year-old who is more like 3 toddler boys in one body. — I just needed fast easy fuel.

Any negatives?

I mean the best results I got were oven baked and my air fryer. Perfection.

Otherwise, it is a tad gooey like any microwave burrito or food can be. I like a crisp on the shell but ate 90% of mine from the microwave and still loved them.

Also, the price point is a tad high for me at my Walmart. I mean Milk and eggs are WAY more than what my family pays back in Michigan and I am talking $3-4 dollar more so it could just be my area. I do not mind paying for convenience right now- but I know I will go back to my penny-pinching ways and if the price stays the same I would likely only use these as a treat once in a while.

Take away? You definitely should grab your favorite flavor profile and give one a try! Everyone could use a little more plant food in their life, and this is a delicious EASY way to do it with Alpha Burritos.
