So I have been on a streak with MyFitness pal for 11 days and this is a record for me, I am too ADD with my attention span so things like remembering to make the bed, or say scanning food is sometimes hard. What can I say, I am a scatter brain!
Enter the SMOOTHIE. It is seriously helping me stay on target thanks to the app giving me REAL life, true life associations with calories. I am better staying in a normal range, ESPECIALLY since I am not training/ working out like before it is super helpful. I tend to be heavy on the protein and they are more Protein shakes than a juice with some ice. My favorite is the Cake Batter Shake- but since I am currently running on empty groceries and pantry- I needed to get creative.
So enter the EnergyBits. I have been using EnergyBits since the fall, and now after Christmas added RecoveryBits to the mix. I take these bits normally with my protein smoothies or on their own depending on my needs and which bits.
Frozen Mango and Pineapple (unsweetened) – a must have in my life. 1 cup
A Banana- I normally use frozen but regular works great too.
Egg Whites – (They are pasteurized!) – About 1/4 cup, or more depending on your needs.
RecoveryBits– At one calorie a bit, its food, non GMO, Gluten free, and going to detox me while I sleep AND boost my immune system? Yes please! I took about 45 bits.
Optional- Toasted Coconut Almond Milk- Makes it more milkshake like, and BONUS tastes like a Pina Colada or ground flax. I tend to add a TBS of that when I have it too.
I use my food processor because well- Its new and I am obsessed with it. I normally let it blend there with mango and pineapple till it looks mushy ( about 30 seconds on high ) then I add my egg whites and banana. Let it blast on high until it starts to get puffy( 1-2 minutes on high). The egg whites won’t meringue or anything because they are pasteurized and not raw. So it won’t stiffen up but it hits this point of smoothie to puffy/fluffy point after blending so long. If I was not leaving for Tinkerbell I would have my Toasted Coconut to add and feel like I am on a beach!
I did this smoothie the other night for dinner because It was late, I was hungry, I still had an empty fridge and pantry… and was feeling run down. I DO not want to get sick before my first trip to Disneyland so I added the RecoveryBits!
So I am getting blended with bits, and since I have incorporated my smoothies as a snack or meal ( always with bits!) I have lost 6.6 pounds in 11 days. I eat too much especially unhealthy stuff, so this is a sure way to ensure I am getting all my vitamins and nutrients.
