Trying to bust the post meal cravings- Meal enders giveaway.

Full disclosure I bought 3 bags of meal enders prior to being accepted to the FitApproach campaign where I was given 4 bags for free for my review. My opinions are always my own!

MEAL ENDERS!

So this was what I have been using over the last few months ( prior to whole30) to help my cravings. My husband hated them, but it is hard to convince him to like much of anything sometimes. He felt that way about shakeology, but now drinks its every day. The man takes time to come around!

They are super fun, and while I don’t think they taught me to stop seeking sweets they were  two grams of sugar, 15 calories, and is low-fat, stimulant-free, gluten-free, kosher, and contains no high fructose corn syrup or MSG, and regulated since it is a food item.

-They certainly did help my sweet tooth from eating pie or ice cream when I would pop one in for 20 minutes.

Unlike extreme diets, appetite suppressants or supplements that focus solely on your stomach, MealEnders work with the body’s natural hunger rhythms using a combination of behavioral psychology and sensory science. Tasty science!

Here is a little what I learned about how these tingly treats work.

  • Behavioral– Establish an important chronological marker for meal- and snack-end
  • Sensory –Provide a measured sweet cue for dessert replacement, followed by a palate cleansing to reduce cravings • Engage the trigeminal nerve to cue the cessation of eating
  • Psychological –Heighten mindfulness of natural digestive rhythms • Create habitual cueing of meal completion and  Empower a sense of control

How I used them? I really popped one in whenever I knew I should 1. stop eating or I was going to get ” too full” or craving a post meal sweet and wanting to beat my husband in our weight loss competition.

Cinnamon or Chocolate mint were my favorite. They tasted so creamy and delicious upon first popping them in my mouth, and then the tingly sensation would come from the core and it was interesting. It was a stronger feeling than I expected, but not bad. It really made me feel done with my meal, and not seek any more food. When I would feel snacky, just to snack, I would pop one in and by the time I finished with the tingly core- that feeling was gone. It was pretty cool actually.

Now I won’t go into detail into how it works, because you can click here to see a fancy infographic explaining it all!
