6 months left in 2014= Goal setting.

I really love that when I am active in blogging, I am so much more efficient in life. It just works that connecting with all of you, your comments, and just writing goals out in general keep me so much more motivated.

What are you doing to achieve your goals

So why I fall off the wagon?

I have no idea, well that’s a lie. I have a few ideas.

  1. I run out of time- I get too easily distracted
  2. I feel I do not have anything to write about that is relatable/ “good enough” to post
  3. I have not done anything I feel is interesting enough, that people may enjoy reading about.

I realized 2 of those are what other people think, and I just was not ok with that. I started showmeashley for me, but to not “find” myself because I do feel I know who I am. I am constantly changing though, and I wanted to be able to document my growth, and our life. I have always enjoyed social media, and rocked a live journal back in the day- I LOVE meeting people via the interest. I kind of connected with my husband that way, and by kinda I mean we connected through mutual friends- on FACEBOOK. No shame, I love it! So while I blog to connect with others, and a variety of other reasons – I should not let a fear of what others may think of my posts stop me.

Goal setting!

Ok, Today is my what day! What do I want to accomplish the next 30 days. That list could go on forever, so I am narrowing it down to one specific semi S.M.A.R.T goal.

I am not going to say 5 things I want to accomplish, just 1 specific goal!

Most goals  of mine have failed because I wake up and say something like “ I want to_________, now!” . Instead of me starting with research or planning out smaller steps I sit down and try to accomplish the end goal that could take years.

But that is HARD- and I quit, I mean tackling something without the baby steps will do that to a person. This applies to my fitness goals too. I set lofty goals, and then binge eat my 1 year old wedding cake full of regret as soon as I lick the last bit of frosting. this happened yesterday  I quit before I get started because it is all too much, and very overwhelming.

So today, I am setting one goal for the whole month. Join me!

  1. Find 1 goal for the next 30 days.
  2. Make it specific. Get in shape is not the goal, “ I want to lose 5 lbs.” is the goal. Measurable is important, you need to be able to track!
  3. Do you– do not copy someone else’s or what you think you should do. Pick a goal that means something to you.
  4. Write it down and post it somewhere you will see it.
  5. Share it!

The last one is optional since not everybody is comfortable with making goals public. I find it so motivating to have a goal out for the world to see, but I get that others don’t. I learned a lot making my goals public with this blog, it WORKS for me to throw it all out there. Yes, everyone can have set backs, but try finding someone you trust to help keep you accountable Smile

The other four? Those are mandatory.

My goal for the next 30 days? Log on every day for my Challenge group I joined. I know that sounds funny, but to me logging in to the group, participating= success. I am inspired by others, and need the support of a team. I thrive in class or team settings, and always have. So checking in and completing my workouts will be part of me logging in, I am sure- but it more just being consistent in one simple act first.

Are you going to join me in one goal over the next 30 days? Let me know below! Today is what, tomorrow is why.
