What is holding you back?–Finding your fitness mojo again.

How is your summer fitness going? Are you thriving with the sunny weather, or losing motivation quickly in the humid heat? I am the first one to admit my motivation is usually what keeps me from getting out the door, to the gym, or popping a DVD in to get my sweat on.

When my thyroid medication is off, didn’t get enough sleep, feeling tired, sluggish, or just plain summer heat – Finding the inner motivation to get my booty moving is HARD!

I worked on trying to make my routine exciting, I love walking our new dog Minnie, and that has been helpful to get the ball rolling for me some days when my motivation is in a low place. I know she loves to walk, and she never got to at her old home- so it really drives me out the door no matter what to make sure she is feeling loved, happy, and getting healthy. It is a bonus for me too!

That isn’t quite burning the calories though, so finding my groove post injury has been hard. I either get discouraged when my workout is too hard, or it is too hot. I can likely list a million things that discourages me not to workout post walking cast, but those two things are really goal stoppers for me.

Lets shake it up!

I have tried a variety of different things to get moving, shaking up my routine, etc. I am not a coffee drinking, coke lover, and rarely drink caffeine. I am a fan of the occasional pre-workout supplement, but have gotten away from those due to learning more about all the chemicals in there. Also, I used to get sweats and talk really fast when I used them.. SCARY! Haha. No one wants that when they are trying to fuel their body.

So when I had the chance to pick any of Vega’s Sport products to try, my tired unmotivated self gravitated towards the ENGERGIZER.

So I was loving the ingredients of this from the get go. I know Vega is a plant based product line, but I was not sure if this was just going to be some B vitamins and caffeine in a drink- or what!

Things that stood out to me-

  • I loved the energy boost. I kid you not it got me working out when I didn’t want to.
  • It is plant based- Dairy, gluten, and soy free!
  • NO artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.
  • Had cool health ingredients that I like to use already like: Coconut, Yerba mate, Green Tea, Ginseng, and Turmeric to name a few.

My husband and I used these on separate days as I tucked one in his bag for work incase he was headed to the gym after, and once on my own before doing a walk, weights, and my PiYo DVDs. We then used them together before he ran, and I just walked and went to do weights.

We loved the energy, we loved not feeling jittery more! It was not like hitting a wall of caffeine with other products we tried, and just this almost instant I don’t feel like sleeping anymore kinda feeling.

There is a little learning curve for us. We naturally dilute everything we use ever. I normally find things too sweet, or strong and add extra water. DON’T with this. I could not gag this down diluted, and although it smells like it would taste awesome- diluted it just doesn’t . Not even a little.

Now I found personally I like just tossing it into my morning shake, but if you just follow the packet instructions in mixing it up it tastes pretty good. There is an aftertaste but it tastes like a strong tea aftertaste to me, almost bitter, but not just a little weird. It was not the most pleasant thing, but I chased it with water and it was quickly gone.

So adding this to my life has really help change up how my summer workouts are going. I enjoy that it natural and helping my fuel me into motivation. That sounds funny, but in some of the days I used it- It is the truth! So as I got curious I checked out Vega’s campaign to Fuel your Better. It is a cool site with more than just their products.
