This was my first time at Princess Expo due to delays last year my husband and I missed it arriving a day late. So I could only compare it to this year’s Tinkerbell Expo. It was so nice and spread out. I felt it had a lot more going on than the Tinkerbell Half Marathon Expo, which while mildly crowded seemed small and didn’t have much to hold my interest. I will apologize now I took almost zero pictures!!
The expo was split in the buildings around the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Nicole had been here before, and I was just lost. First thing I DID see was greek yogurt being handed out as soon as we rounded the corner. We still had a bit of a walk till we even got near to get a sample, so Nicole was impressed with my free / snack finding abilities.
We resisted just sitting outside soaking up beautiful sun and headed to get our bibs and my coast to coast wristband! I was not worried about getting my coast to coast for some reason, but I realize later during the half marathon I should have been. This was in a separate building from shopping. It had its own little shop of Official Disney Merchandise but we were on a mission. Get race bib. Get Race shirt. Shop quickly. Get to Parks! ( All while waking up at 4am to catch a flight. Disney Magic)
First look at the EXPO. First thoughts: “BUT EVERYTHING! OOO SPARKLE!! MUST GET!”
I know it may look crowded, but we really only waited in any sort of line at #TeamSparkle. Everything else had such a great flow, and to be honest I felt lost. I saw later once returning home from Disney that I missed out on some cool things, but I still am happy with what I got!
I ended up getting my husband a T-Shirt. He reads this so I am keeping the saying secret till he tries it on. I will post a picture once he gets to wear it post deployment
I was not impressed with any of the other Disney Merchandise. I was expecting to be wowed, but anything I was drawn to had a price tag above my willingness to pay. We are small one income home, the experience enough was ok. Maybe once we PCS ( Permanent Change of Station) things will be different.
That is my 12 Dollar South African Wine I got from Animal Kingdom one of my days here (This wine was had AFTER the half)
Nicole and I ended up getting Sparkly Soul headbands due to they SPARKLE ALL THE WAY AROUND! I love it much more than my sweaty band. Sorry I am not sorry. I have a giant head and the headband was PERFECT. You can see our headbands here.
I almost splurged on these!
My Bi-Lateral Plantar Fasciitis feet thank me for not doing so.
Honestly the Expo was amazing. There were men dressed up on a red carpet leading to the expo, Champagne, Beer in pink cups, Race gear, Fuel, and oh so much women driven athletic companies and apparel. I just was soaking it all in. Here are a few shots we did get!
