Disney pregnancy announcement.
When we first got pregnant with our son in 2015 we planned on a weekend getaway to Magical Walt Disney World to have one of those ” Dreams do come true” “Miracles just take a little time” sort of pregnancy announcements and fun little babymoon. We were soon met with permanent orders to a new military base, and my husband was sent away on temporary duty practically 80% of the pregnancy- There was no babymoon, there was no Disney magic, only our magical little bundle of joy we struggled years of infertility battles to have.
Which was magical beyond words itself to have a sweet little baby, and we enjoyed a trip to Disneyland at Christmas for his first trip at 13 months with my parents. This was the most magical trip watching him experience Disneyland, during the holidays to boot!
Show me Baby Number 2.
I have yet to write up anything about this pregnancy because it has been the opposite of my last. The last had zero symptoms- this one has them all. We always expected to only have one child, but finding out we were pregnant before I was even four weeks along; I immediately told my husband we were going to Disneyland for Labor Day weekend to do the magical announcement we always wanted and started selling stuff/ pinching pennies to save for this trip. I was so proud of how little we spent on this trip, and it was a hot but AMAZING trip.
We finally got to have our magical babymoon and our first family vacation where we were not traveling with other family or headed home to see family!
Finding inspiration for our Disney Pregnancy announcement.
I tried Pinterest, but honestly, it was falling really flat. Also- I am a size 18, not 4. Plus size findings can be hard for me in general and pregnancy has become the hardest of those times. I lost weight yet none of my clothes fit, and considering last pregnancy I wore my regular clothes until the third trimester- I was at a loss!
Etsy had a plethora of amazing shops with SO many pregnancy announcement shirts JUST FOR DISNEY!
Going to be a big sibling- Disney Pregnancy Announcement Shirt.
Simple, and so cute! He can wear it around all the time and the quality was amazing! There were so many character options, but I really loved the simplicity of this one. She actually featured a beautiful gray tee and was able to quickly customize a red and white one for us and SUPER fast to our house. I was in awe.
Dreams come true, here comes baby number two!
It was hard to find a shirt saying we all liked for my husband. Some were odd, looking at you Star Wars ones, and some just not very Disney fun.
His shirt was just ok. I had to iron on myself because I could not find a shop who made the shirt I wanted the way we wanted it. It peeled off by the middle of this day, and just was not to size for his shirt. I mean look at how perfect mine covered the shirt. It was still nice to have shirts for the whole family.
The Bump: Disney Pregnancy shirt
Ok. My bump is sticking out a bit here exaggerated if you will, but it felt like it was huge from conception. I am currently 23 weeks and in my first pregnancy I did not even look pregnant at this point in comparison. I feel I look and feel way more pregnant than I am, even though baby is actually measuring right as it should. My son measured 3 weeks early in all our monthly growth scans.
It was hard to find plus size shirts, and then cute pregnancy sayings were slim as well. I love that this was a soft pregnancy shirt, and Bibbidy Bobbidy Bump is SO cute to me because it feels like that is how this happened.
Going to Disneyland for our Babymoon
We had the BEST time. We arrived the Wednesday before labor day weekend, aka DISNEYLAND HALF MARATHON weekend. It was hotter than our desert home topping over 110 degrees! Yet we had one of the best trips from the very first day- the parks were EMPTY until the actual weekend. 5 minutes was the longest wait, and we got to ride almost all the rides before the weekend even arrived.
My brother drove up to meet us for the weekend so we got to have one on one time with him and show him around Disneyland for his first visist- EVER! How he lives in California and has yet to visit is beyond me. I would LOVE to live closer.
It was nice to be able to take it slow, go back for naps every day for me and the toddler in tow. I was still dealing with pretty bad all day sickness and while I was good most days, taking a nap let us all continue long enough into the night to stay on our home time zone, and enjoy the nighttime festivities.
Things I loved: shopping and snacking while my they rode rides I was not able to/or just did not feel like. There were AMAZING souviners in Carsland for McQueen’s biggest fan! From an amazing bedtime storybook to a beautiful piece of art to take home. It is something we usually never take the time to do. We usually buy a stuffed animal, a Christmas ornament, and tshirt/sweatshirt and call it good. This time we were able to bring home something he enjoys reading every night, and a beautiful rendition of Carsland to hang in his room and remind all of us of the trip!
Speaking of the little guy, we had an aboslute blast watching him run up to chartacters and hug them, dance with them, and since he is a very excitable little guy- Shout their name and giggle at them the entire time we waited in line to see them. With the exception of Buzz Lightyear- He was not a fan even a little. He enjoyed all the rides he was big enough for, riding pirates of the carribean every day, the newly opened Disneyland railway, and Dumbo.
So lucky we were able to take our first family trip, our first babymoon, all at the most magical place on earth!
