3 Reasons why I decided not to sell LuLaRoe

Selling Lula Roe — Is it for you?

It was a hard no for me, mainly because my husband was not on board because he KNOWS me. Likely better than I know myself. Listen I am a LuLa Roe LOVER. I signed up to become a business consultant with them back-end of FEBRUARY of 2016, and just a few weeks ago got the call to sign up. These are my reasons, but please if you are considering becoming a consultant read all the comments from consultants leaving or regretting their decision down at the end of my post.

selling lula roe is it for you?

Here are Three reasons why I decided not to sell LuLa Roe:

  • LuLa Roe investment is significant. And scary. They have some great policies in effect to combat that first investment, and I will say my closet full of comfy LuLa Roe is a testament to how well this stuff sells.. but never the less it is a sum up front to even get out of the gate. Husband wasn’t fond of locating said upfront cost risk. To ” be drowning in leggings,” he told me to be exact. While we could have made it work, I just was not comfortable putting money towards this sort of risk.

  • I don’t want to have to hustle my Irmas or leggings. I know I just said the clothing sells itself. I mean hello limited prints, comfy fits, and makes everyone look good while feeling like they wear pajama’s all day. Yeah – But listen. I love the mall. I may not go to it much, and I may online shop my life away, but I like variety and shopping around. I don’t want a closet entirely of LuLa Roe, and I know this would happen to me. I would be a walking business card. It is still a lot of work, you are not the GAP, and people just stroll right up to you and buy your stuff- YOU have to WORK WORK WERK!

  • Speaking of work. Do I see myself doing this long-term, short-term? What? Hobby? I wanted SO badly to sell Lula Roe, and I still side eye my husband every time a new lula lovely hits my doorstep — because I WANTED TO BE THE ONE TO SELL IT. But he knows me. LAWD this man knows me and that I would fizzle out after hitting my initial goals, and probably give up after a few years. Which would be fine, but in my sleep deprivation state, and no idea where to store HUNDREDS of inventory pieces, I chickened out. Because as much as I point fingers at my husband– if I wanted to sell trendy cotton clothing — I would be doing it already. I was passionate but once I waited months to try to sell, I felt like a small fish consultant a huge ocean and decided to chicken out. or pass. Which ever. It wasn’t for me. I do not even like the clothes anymore.

selling lula roe

Knowing what I know on the other side- the Company is incredible, family oriented, loving on their consultants, and shower them with resources, love, and help to run their own clothing business’. IT really is a great opportunity, Just not an opportunity for me.  Read the comments people. Read the comments below.

lula roe why I decided not to sell it

Update: still really glad I didn’t sign up. Almost 10 months later. Why? I don’t even want to buy the clothes anymore and it lost its appeal to me. See my husband just knows me and my crap attention span 😉

I was looking at the business model when I first heard about it and while it is incredibly interesting and the clothes do sell themselves, I also think the initial investment is a bit steep. AND it seems like there’s a huge bunch of distributors already that have a loyal fan base. My fear would be getting in too late and now having the interest from enough people.

So yeah, I totally feel you!

Yes! Exactly! When I first signed up it had not “boomed” and that initial investment + distributors left and right makes it down right scary. I will stick to my random purchases lol

Hey everyone! You know, I completely understand everything you are saying. The same exact thoughts went through my mind. What sold me on selling it is the marketing behind it. It’s just all so interesting with the demand of unique prints and selling on social media. However, I am in a different stage of my life. My kids are 10 and 7, and I’ve been working in Internet marketing for the last decade, so this is something I want to do on the side as a supplement because it’s fun. There are a lot of people who have looked into selling and then decided it isn’t for them, and that’s okay. It’s not for everyone – just like the clothes aren’t for everyone. We all just need to have fun and enjoy what LuLaRoe has to offer to consultants, shoppers, and everyone else.

Love your site by the way!!! Great job!

I am a full time nurse , wife, mother of 2 teens and our four year old son who is autistic. My decision to sell LuLaRoe has been the best decision I have ever made! My husband and I are currently looking into purchasing medical benefits and throwing around the idea of quiting my job in NeuroTrauma ICU! My sponsor is an ER doctor! We have an awesome, supportive team and my own personal growth has been more than I ever would have expected or even hoped for! In all honesty… most of my customers are more thankful and grateful for me finding them their favorite pieces than family members of a patient whom
We may have coded time and time again throughout the night! I have only been selling for about 6 weeks now and I’m about to cruise qualify this month! However, the clothes do not sell themselves. There is plenty of work to get the people to your inventory, but it’s not “work, work”. It is enjoyable work!

Rebecca, I have been a consultant since October. I am already feeling “done” with LLR so to speak. You don’t get the real picture of how LLR functions until its too late. I did a lot of research before I entered the queue. The only negative thing I could find at the time was that LLR is an MLM and all MLM’s are scams. Which I don’t necessarily believe, so I didn’t take that as too concerning. (You can make money with LLR even by not having a team under you). I watched hundreds of you tube videos of consultants making a LOT of money. I really got swept away with the dream of this company, in that I too, could make TONS of money with this business. Well it has not been all unicorns and rainbows like they make it out to be. The company onboards 200+ consultants per day when they can’t even take care of their current consultants needs. Their IT dept is like the equivalent of elementary kids running it, their system is constantly having issues and glitches, not working, etc. My very first sale at a pop up, the credit card was denied. I ran it twice. Then the customer wrote me a check. Then the next morning I saw the payment went through… twice. Then I had to issue a refund which was a nightmare. When they announce their holiday legging launches… they let you know 2 HOURS before. It costs money to place orders for inventory so consultants need to be prepared for this!!! They give no advance notice. And then all the consultants are all online at the same time trying to score holiday leggings and their system crashes. It’s ridiculous. I was lucky enough to get Valentines leggings this time, and I thought they’d all sell like crazy but that is not the case. Now they are about to implement a new POS sale system but only for iphone users! I can only imagine the issues that will come of that! And if you have issues or problems because your orders come shipped to you with missing items, damaged clothes, or back orders, be prepared to wait MONTHS for a credit. If you try to call in for consultant support you wait nearly 2 hrs on hold, and most of the time your call will get disconnected an hour in to your wait time. They offer a “call back” feature where you leave a message about your issue, but never get a return call. I ordered stuff on 10/06 (right after I place my initial order with my onboarding call), and only got 1/2 of it. I called, left messages, no return call and couldn’t get through on the phone. So the week of Thanksgiving I drove 2 hrs to the Home Office in Corona to go in there in person and inquire. They gave me all but 3 items (see, they DID have it the warehouse and never filled my order— also I belong to many FB groups for consultants only and there are HUNDREDS of consultants with these same problems), and told me the last 3 would be shipped the next day. Well I never got them, and right after Christmas was when I finally got the credit to my account. Ridiculous service to the consultants that are making them rich! They never address consultant concerns, they just tell you to work your business with what you have, and don’t be negative. If you’re negative or frustrated on any FB thread the admin will delete your comments. I really wish I never spent the $7K to get involved with this company.

Cindy, I could have written your post! I onboarded in June, and I’m currently in the process of closing up shop, or as I’m telling my friends, “running for the hills.” I’ve got a really bad feeling about what’s going on in this company. So many quality issues, yet all they can focus on is onboarding as many people per day as possible. It’s all about lining their pockets. I can’t even tune into their webinars anymore because they’re so self-righteous.

Back again, Thank you Ashley for posting my comments and now having read some more posts…I am back.. 🙂 I realized after reading some more that some consultants/retailers are coming here looking for advice about closing up shop…. Please reach out to me…LuLaRoe Sherri Katnic… I will help you wrap your head around this…. I am NOT giving up… I am here for the long haul… you joined LuLaRoe for several reasons… Get back to your “WHY?” dig deep…. Alot of the things I have read are already resolved… There are no longer long wait times…. I too was waiting 2 hours but there was an amazing feature… you could hit a button on your phone and leave a message for them to call you back…. then… but now they have hired more people to handle so many different aspects of LULAROE… LuLaRoe is also expanding EAST.. and opening a warehouse on the East coast to help the East coast retailers get their LuLaRoe quicker plus they need to expand… especially since they have a huge plan to go GLOBAL within 4 years now…… The convention this year will be at the Anaheim Convention Center.. Where I believe they are going to allow 25k people to attend and You can be a guest and not a retailer… You can also sign up at convention which is what I did last year… well I actually onboarded at Convention… Onboarded in Mark and Deanne’e backyard… These people “Stidham’s” are the real deal… They truly want to BLESS this world, to bless you and to bless me…… They have huge hopes for every person that decides to sell with them… Please don’t give up… if you are struggling there are so many retailers/consultants out there that will help you/adopt you etc…. We don’t all have amazing uplines…. and this company is such a baby…. but this is exactly the time to get in…. How many people have a chance to get into something at the beginning? I know what you are thinking 25k people, 40k people… the market is saturated… etc etc… Do me and yourself a favor…We have MILLIONS of people in this country… As of 2014 there were 318.9 million (2014) American… So even 100K is a drop in the bucket….and we aren’t even close to that number yet…with consutants/retailers.. GO out tomorrow and ask 10 people, ask 20 people, ask 100 people… if they have ever heard of LuLaRoe??? I’m going to guess you’ll hear alot of No’s or puzzling looks…. I still get these looks… These responses, these looks.. It is GOLD… it is not even 5% known.. most likely less…. LuLaRoe is on the verge of becoming a household name…. There are articles after articles of reports of Millenial moms being made rich from LuLaRoe… The average LuLaRoe Retailer makes 4k a month… if you think you can handle that??… then this is for you…. If you are a consultant/retailer and you are not doing that… reach out… start brainstorming… and do not give up…. You did not invest time, money and energy to give up…. It is not for everyone.. I too have had friends coming and going…. for many differnt reasons… One wanted to help her husband with their new business (they are geologists) crazy… and another they wanted to focus on starting a family…. and another did not realize how much work she was going to need to do with her already F/T and an additional P/T job raising a family on her own…. she is not getting out but she is taking a break so she can re-evaluate what she wants to do… She said she is a shopper, not a retailer and she would rather go to nursing school… For me, I love the flexibility, I love that I can create my own hours, I love that if I can’t sleep at night for whatever reason I can run downstairs and work on LuLaRoe.. I love that I feel like I am contributing to my family… in many ways not just financially… I’ve only been selling for about 8-9 months now… and we’ve already been able to take 3 vacations… We took one initially when I started…. but since then we have taken 2 more… with the help of funds made from LuLaRoe… We went to Morro Bay, California and just recently Las Vegas… It is so nice to have money deposited in my bank account daily…. yes daily… I don’t have to worry about whether or not I can afford the White Chocoalte Mocha Frappachino anymore… All I can say so far for me is I wish LuLaRoe was here 15 years ago…. and I am looking forward to what the future holds for me and my family…. My 12 year old son who is my baby… has already benefited from my being home… he was struggling in school and getting it not troube cosntantly… and now he is spending more time with mom and even helping me with LuLaRoe stuff… he has fun dressing the mannequin and taking photos of the clothing we will sell.. I even let him create outfits etc.. and we post them for sale in the group…. or on Roe with me… On top of everything else…. My husband who works F/T as a chef for Sodexo… is like wow… this is really a thing… see he thought he was just encouraging me to have a hobby… or something to keep me busy… albeit a hefty price tag for a hobby… but he really did not think this would work… and now he is like hurry up and be a rock star so I can quit my job… SO many wonderful things have happened since I begain this journey… One of my son’s is in the Navy and he came hom this summer after I joined to get Married… well I had a following on Periscope and I video’d the courthouse wedding… it was super cute and posted it… to my Periscope followers… everyone was like oh my gosh this is awesome… LOL… and now his wife and her friend are thinking on possibly doing this… I said to them go get your fun…. and it will be here waiting for you when you are ready to dive into LuLa Land… My baby girl will be 25 this year… She was injured in the Navy… and she is being medically retired/discharged… and at first she was like oh great mom is selling Pampered chef/tupperware/avon etc again… but then she saw the fanaticism with it… it was truly like Pokemon cards … gotta catch them all… ya know… it’s super crazy… Do you know a pair of leggings they were birthday leggings sold for $10,300.00 on EBAY?? CRAZY…. I know someone like Katy Perry is buying them…. LOL… and back to the challenge… SMILE wide when you hear one more person tell you they do not know what LuLaRoe is.. that they have never heard of it… Because this is EPIC…. are the bumps in the road? Yes .. but there are bumps in every road…. adn my daughetr will be helping me when she gets out…. But she has big plans to go to college and I want her to do that…. but at the same time she can supplement her income with LuLaRoe…and maybe that is all you want?? Me; I want to build a LuLa Empire…. I am hading to Anaheim for convention this year… Who is going with me? oh and one last thing..MY MOM was my biggest deterrent… she SAID this is a scheme, pyramid etc… that is ridiculous amount of money to waste(her words) don’t be stupid etc etc… and I KNEW it was the right thing for ME to do… and I went for it…. My Mom is now one of my biggest supporters… and she has already seen how it ahs beneffitted me…. same with my littl sister who has an MBA.. She was totally shocked and now both of them call me all the time to see what new unicorns I have… My mom went on a cruise and bought a ton of Elegance too…. and my little sister was calling me every day for a week until my Valentine’s leggings came and then made me Facetime her so she could have a private showing… of my V-Day leggings… LOL… It really is exciting, it is contagious, it is addicting and we are the very few people that know about LuLaRoe… It is spreading like wild fire…. and even the celebrities and the like are coming out and loving everything LuLaRoe… I’m planning on renting a House or a Suite for Convention (I hope to see you there!)…. and I am guessing because it is in Anaheim at the Convention center there, that there is a strong possibilty that we may be going to Disneyland (OMG!!) I sure hope sooo that would be awesome!!!….Last year they rented out an entire waterpark… everything was FREE… all the food, all the drinks, they gave us Free carly’s and promo tees, training, and food and more food.. and more food… and cute bottles of water with LulaRoe insignia on them… The bussed us all to the Beach adn had a HUGE venue and concert with Andy Grammar.. The Royals were at the Waterpark… and when I onboarded in the Stidham’s backyard,,, there was someone from American Idol and the Voice… They were the seasons finalists… OMG.. so awesome…. This family, “Stidham’s” does not hold back…. anyways I coud go on and on…. If you need help reach out to me or anyone else…. do not give up just yet… unless of course you just really want to.. But not because you are overwhelmed or worried or broke again… call me messgae me.. call LuLaRoe they will also put you in touch with someone who will mentor you or help you…. I am a LuLaRoe Advocate for consultants in distress… Hugs and Happiness to you all…. and in the words of Dori… Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…. and you’ll be fine…. SO much new stuff is coming…. and I am sooo excited to be on the front of this roller coaster…. it is going to be awesome…. <3 Sherri Katnic

I thought consultants were forbidden to sell LLR stuff on eBay? It sounds like you have been involved in other MLM/pyramid schemes—-Pampered Chef, Avon, Tupperware. What happened with those? Are you still selling Pampered Chef, Tupperware and Avon? If not, why not? You’ve been selling LLR for 6-7 months. How much have you made in those 6-7 months? Not how much in total sales, but how much PURE PROFIT have you made in the time you have been with LLR?

I have a unique perspective on this as a supporting male in the LLR business. What I have seen in LLR as a whole, is a company that has grown faster than ANY other business on the planet short of Facebook itself. I’m in business, it’s what I do. There is no possible way to prepare a company for the type of growth that LLR has seen. 5 years ago it didn’t exist and now it’s over a billion dollar company. How do you plan for that?

While I see complaint’s about the number consultants on boarded, what I don’t see are the reposting of comments by consultants that have had their life changed for the better. If you saw the thousands of positive comments and stories pouring in…if you were running LLR you wouldn’t slow down either.

They are truly making a difference in people’s lives. Thousands have taken advantage of an opprotunity to provide for their families. College funds, cancer treatments and retirement funds are some of the examples out there that are shadowed by a vocal minority today.

The initial setup/investment is designed to help you create a good customer experience. If you setup shop with a $500 investment you would have such a small offering that the likely hood of a poor customer experience is high. Hence the size of the initial package. It’s a proven formula to start someone off on the right foot. Good products and selection bring in customers. Would you repeatedly shop at a store that only have 5 items to choose from in your size? Probably not right?

This is where its important to understand business. A lack of cashflow is what will put a company under faster than anything. Having debt is OK! If you have more debt than inventory you have a problem. But having some debt is healthy and expected. Just reading the comments you can tell that there is quite a market for the inventory if you know where to look. I believe that many take the proceeds from their initial sale and try to pay down their investment before growing their inventory to attract more customers. If you look at successful consultants, many have an assortment that is 4 to 5 times the size of the initial package.

            ——————————————————————————————————-

This is a business and running a good business requires effort, discipline and knowledge and…MORE!

Yes the product sells itself…but it doesn’t ship itself, replenish itself and answer customer questions by itself. If you ask ANY small business owner what it took to be successful, chances are really good that their answer will sound farmiliar. Time without question is the biggest investment that is overlooked. The difference is that if you put 40 hours in at the office working for the other guy, your paycheck may not change. You truly get out of this what you put in.

Back in July, 2016 when my now fiance started selling there were 45,000 consultants. Today there are over 75,000. Many said that there were too many at that point. She still saw the opprotunity. BTW, she was still taking 18 credit hours in her final semester of her under graduate while working 50 hours as a sales analyst for a 15 billion dollar manufacture in corporate america. She didn’t have time for anything, but she made time because she saw that opprotunity to work for HERSELF.

Three months later, in October just after graduation when all the student loan payments were about to start and her then boss went crazy, she was able to say enough and quit. Why? Because of LLR!!! That opprotunity was all she needed and she was self sufficient. Her focus and commitment to her customers had grown the business enough where she could make the change and never look back.

She isn’t about the MLM side of this, today (February 2017) we just finished month number 8 and eclipsed more in profit than she made her entire year as a professional sales analyst and she only has 2 people under her. LLR’s environment makes it possible to be successful without recruiting!!!

Her success comes from having a customer first focus. Doing what is right and making it easy for the shopper. No forms for a customer to fill out (still using old bless right now), and making a customer feel welcomed and happy with their purchase. Because of that, her FB group has grown and her repeat customers shop regularly. Are there product quality issues..occasionally but most are caught by her before a photo is taken. LLR has been providing credit for those within 2 business days. We receive around 20 boxes per week of product and have had 1 missing Irma now in the last month.

As the supporting person in the business, without a doubt I can say that this is not for everyone. It helps to be goal oriented, competitive and driven. Anyone doing this needs support. They need a support system as any good business does. In this business though the culture is already setup to support. Every single message, video and live broadcast starts with words of encouragement.

So while you may read posts from those that had a bad experience, please keep in mind that there are MANY who have had their lives changed and don’t have time to comment…because they are focused on what matters most.

I have an issue with one of the replies claiming that a pair of LuLaRoe leggings sold on eBay for 10,300.00. A simple search for Lularoe leggings using the sold filter and searching in the 1000.00 – 20,000 range only brings back 4 results. The highest priced sold result being 7500.00 for a 135 piece most likely sold by a LLR consultant who is happy to be out.

Sherri you must be slow. Those Bday Leggings did not sell for $10k on eBay. A consultant bid that much on them but no money, No Money ever exchanged hands. You have been drinking too much kool-aid. I have been a consultant for over a year and as of right now every consultant I know is saying they have lost over 80% of their sales in the last two weeks. Every multi consultant sale that I sell in is down from 300 items a day to maybe 25 items on a hood carry. I have had to participate in at least 6 multis a day just to sell 30 items a week since August when it started slowing down. Well now it is at a stand still. There are soo many consultants going out of business selling for wholesale prices and even less the rest of us can’t sell for regular retail price. Why would someone pay retail price in a full price $25 for Leggings in a multi when they can pay $10 in a going out of business multi. All that salesman crap you just said in your post is the same brainwashing crap Mark and Deanne say every week in the calls. But did you read Mark’s deposition for the court case they lost over Audrey. Everything he said was a lie. Yep, nice Mormon man lying in court. Ya, they want to bless the world. They just can’t do it honestly. I am not quitting yet because I enjoy this as a hobby but if I had to feed my family from my sales, we would have starved to death 3 months ago and sales are soo much worse now. The company gives us no support at all. All they want is the $7000 from onboarding. Yep 200 new dummies a day paying $7000 why should they care about anything else, that pays for their mansion. It’s people like you and your rainbows and unicorns lies that make people think this is easy. It isn’t easy. I work over 18 hours a day trying to sell in person and loading my pictures into 6 different multi consultant sales a day to sell 3 pairs of Leggings. I have yet to do a Pop Up that I sold over 10 items. Where I live there are LuLaRoe stores. Yes stores. The company says we can’t have stores because they want us to sell in home parties and on Facebook only. But the 7 stores where I live all sold over 1 million last year so you know the company isn’t going to hold them to the no store policy. Yep, it’s all just lies you are spreading. Or are you trying to recruit so you can make $500 off of some poor girl who read your lies and how think she can quit her job and sell LuLaRoe. It’s sad to see soo many people now practically giving away their inventory just to pay a power bill.

My husband is amazing and supportive, and I couldn’t do it without him. But will so many new consultants, my sales in the last 3 months have dropped 75% and I can’t pay people to host an in home party.

This sounds like my life, too. I onboarded in October, had an incredible first three-four months, and then business took a nosedive. My husband, who was initially my biggest and at times, only cheerleader, is sick of it. We got married in October, too (it was a big year) and I feel guilty thinking about how little time we–I–have spent enjoying newlywed status. When things were going well with LLR he would cook dinner every night while I photographed new inventory and did online parties. Now his version of that is cooking as fast as he can and then yelling to me that dinner is ready and it’s time to wrap it up. The stress of it all is unbearable. I’m feeling ready to be done. The sales are not there anymore.

There are Lularoe Going Out of Business groups on Facebook where consultants sell their stuff at wholesale (or below) plus shipping prices. It is awesome for buyers. Got some cute leggings for $7 shipped. But also got ripped off on one order; the leggings never arrived.

I bought in to the tune of $6,500.00 which included leggings in the opening order. This was the minimum buy in if I wanted leggings included in the opening order. I had to get approval from my full time employer to sell the clothes. Lularoe and my sponsor first told me 12 weeks to get my openng order. I got mine in 6 weeks instead. Held on to the inventory awaiting approval from my full time job which wound up taking 3 months! Now I am an inactive consultant per LuLaRoe cause I didn’t sell enough product in a quarter. I am stuck with 6,500.00 in inventory to boot. My sponsor quit selling LuLaRoe before I ever got started and my upline whomever they are, has not checked on me to see if I need help launching. So I am looking to sell it all and just buy my unicorns when they appear from someone else. I learned that since my upline isn’t making commission off me, there is no incentive for anyone to help me launch. My sponsor promised me ahe would advertise me to all of her customers but aince she got out of the business before I got staryed, I have no following to speak of to get started. My husband tried to warn me but I wouldnt listen. So I recommend newbees to think twice before you sign up because now I am hearing I told you so from my husband. Also, because LuLaRoe onboards hundreds of new consultants almost daily as I was told, all of my friends know at least 2 or 3 consultants each and are apprehensive to even host a party. I think the newness and polpularity is wearing off to some making it harder to get a large group ofoyal followers to sell the product to. I still love the product though. If you do sign up…make sure you have a great sponsor who will back you and help you and be there.

I onboarded in early March and have realized this is not for me. I’m going to restrain from bashing this company, but will say that it’s not what we are told it will be. There is no way of fully understanding what it entails until you take the leap. I’m a paralegal and research is my speciality. It baffles me that in my research before signing up, I didn’t discover all of the hidden warnings. I’ve been working on an exit plan, but feel overwhelmed. Advice?

Do you think that a consultant gives a crap about what “corporate” thinks or wants when they’ve pissed away thousands of their own dollars for something that they can’t give away? All they want to do is recoup what they spent—if corporate gave a crap about their consultants, the whole pyramid scheme would be run totally different. What has “cheapened the brand” is the sweatshop leggings made in China & Vietnam that come with holes in them & don’t even fit properly. However a consultant can recoup their money is what should be done, just like the hundreds of consultants dumping their inventory on eBay for pennies on the dollar. Anyone that would spend $25 on a pair of LLR leggings from a consultant instead of spending $12 or less for a pair of leggings on eBay is nothing but a money waster. Something you should have thought about before you took out loans for $13,000 to get into LLR is how oversaturated the market has become & lots of consultants bailing out, dumping their inventory for whatever they can get. LLR is now faced with a federal class action lawsuit for illegally charging & collecting sales tax the at never got paid to the correct authorities. This lawsuit is going to have HUGE consequences to LLR—-big damages & HUGe legal fees. If this was such an “honest” & “pure” company, whose intentions were to help women, they wouldn’t have pulled some of the B.S. that they did, which was nothing but deceitful & dishonest. Who cares about what corporate thinks when they have screwed over their consultants?

Do some closing or going out of business sales to get rid of that inventory and do it at the lowest cost you can that wouldn’t put u in the red and it will sell like hot cakes I’m sure of it.

Hello Anonymous… and a few others who may be struggling or considering selling LLR… There are HUGE changes coming… They will be going global in less then 4 years now..All those poeple will have to go under us… here in the USA…right?. You can message me on Facebook or via email… I have a wealth of LuLa knowledge having onbaorded in Mark and Deann’s backyard in Corona, Ca & living only about 2 short hours or less from the Corporate office… December was a struggle even for me…. to get thru…. for many… But things are back to full speed and picking up for many consultants.. I run a successful and huge Multi consultant sale on Facebook..with over 600 consultants.. and for me within 2 months I began to make as much as I was making at my F/T job… at 3 months working LLR P/T I paid back my intial investment and I reinvested and paid some bills… and treated my husband and I to a weekend escape to Morro Bay, CA… I will say LuLaRoe is ALOT of work… You are a retailer.. You buy at whole sale and sell at Retail.. Are there rules? Yes there are rules but they are rules that set us up for success.. I mentor many women, & a couple guys.. and I am always up for helping everyone even if they are not on my team… I absolutely believe int eh culture of LuLaRoe… even without the clothing, the culture of being kind and serving others just called to me…. I have always been in jobs where I find myself helping people… I worked in banking and customer service, and for a Marketing agency where I implemented many programs in advertising and marketing. When I started having kids … I wnated to be home with them more…e specially when kid #3 came along… Daycare is exepnsive so instead of paying daycare that is what I decided to do… I became an accredidated daycare home…. in Cali.. then I went to work for the school district as an educator and went to nursing school… but my calling has always been my family, my children and being a devoted wife.. I’ll be honest wehn I initially heard about LuLaRoe I was not impressed… with the crazy designs and patterns.. etc.. but the culture and the care is what got me… I too was wearing solids…. LOL… but then I went to convention and loved loved loved the prints…. I signed up in June adn onboarded less then 3 weeks later at mark and Deanne’s home.. it was an awesome experience I will never forget… They live in an average home.. maybe 2000 sq. ft… with a lovely backyard… and they are just regular people who had a vision to help all of us succeed…. If you are struggling in LLR or are interested in selling reach out to me or anyone else… We are all one big happy family…. The one’s that aren’t well they will move on if this is not the right fit for them…. I will continue to help everyone I can succeed… as well as myself… You know take my own advice type deal.. 😉 … LOL… You can do this….. We all can…

            Love, LuLaRoe Sherri Katnic

Super happy to hear all these positives! I know for me I love working with people, and I love helping others- it just really was not the route for me. I always felt the culture they presented was a breath of fresh air and felt so at home with it- it made it hard for me not to buy in for sure. I hope people reach out to you to get information if they are truly called by this opportunity as well!

I started over a year ago and I am not quitting but my best advice is for you to not start. If you don’t have at least 30 friends who promise to buy only from you and to buy at least 3 items a month, then don’t start. You cannot get a following out of thin air. When they start going global they will not put people under anyone in the US. The teams will start in the country they are already in. I had 6 girls sign up under me and they all quit over the new invoice system and the cards we get paid on that cost us $20 a month in fees. I participate in 6 multi consultant sales a day and have only sold 3 pairs of leggings in 2 weeks. It is not worth the stress. The girls that have given up were charged alot to send their crap back to the company because they didn’t keep the packaging to send the clothes back in. Others are selling things for less than they paid just to get a little money back. So no don’t do it. Sell something else like join Poshmark and buy things at WS on Poshmark and resell them on Poshmark.

Why would you expect your sponsor to advertise for you? It is your business and they make nothing going off of advertising for you. I hear this everyday about how sponsors didn’t do this or didn’t do that when in fact we need to be accountable for our own business and quot expecting someone to hold your hand and do all your work while you reap the rewards.

I have been a consultant for about 3 months and am now at the point of contemplating closing shop, I have a ton of inventory (500+pieces) and to be honest, yes, certain pieces sell instantly and without question I can’t keep enough in stock, but other pieces I have had since my initial launch and can’t move even if I discount them! IF I close up shop I will do a liquidation sale, but I keep going back and forth on doing that because I worked really hard to start this up! It’s a LOT of time they don’t tell you about, probably about 12-20 hours worth of photographing so far, then if you do in home parties, it’s a good 6 hour commitment per party,(the lugging of inventory back and forth, the setting everything up, the breaking everything down, etc.), if you do online parties it’s spending hours uploading photos and interacting with people online. You’re spending hundreds of dollars on hangers and clothing racks, and bags to carry your merchandise, and ink, printers, business cards, mailing supplies……..it adds up and your $5K turns into about $8K or more. I think I’ve invested $12K or so total when all is said and done, and so far I’ve paid off about $3K or so of that and gotten into more fights with my husband over spending less time away from my family than not. It’s HARD. Honestly, it would be best suited for someone who doesn’t have small children, or has a ton of free time, not as a great side job like I had intended for it to be. If I average it out I have probably $18K of stuff if I sell it at full price, but at this point if I KNEW right now that I could sell it and pay everything so that I have a zero balance I would do it just to have the sanity of having family time back.

My other sister that’s not selling and myself have noticed alot of negative comments such as cloths getting holes first time wearing, tags on back of shirt different than tags on side of shirt, sloppy right there, and other consultants selling out.
I say LLR has to many new consultants and the industry can’t keep up with orders. Their work is getting sloppier and sloppier, what a shame….I love the leggings and classics, from what I hear sellers buy for maybe $10.00 on leggings and not real expensive on others either. I think they ask a redious price on the Lindsay’s and a few others as I can go to dd’s, sprouts, TJ Maxx and even Wal Mart for those items and pay $10.00- $25.00.. take a look at materials at store, basically same thing!! 🙂
Good Luck to the ones that stay in LLR, too too many new consultants and I don’t want someone telling me how to run my business….

Hi I am in the queue for being a consultant for Lularoe and I have the best team and support I haven’t even launched or onboarded yet and I’m ready to go full fire!
The girl I have signed up under she is amazing! And she has been doing this for 2 months now and has already paid off her onboarding package and has treated herself with a pair of boots she has been wanting forever!
And ways to push your items that are not selling would be a mystery sale…you can do mystery leggings…mystery irmas…Randy’s whatever you want to do and you wrap it up in wrapping paper take pictures of the item wrapped up and people claim a size and number and her sales were BOOMING!! To push all of the items that were not selling.
Also you should always start out with a giveaway that is the number one thing to get people to join your page is having people add other people and then they add and make sure it’s people who want your products and want to stay to see all your sales and giveaways!
Giveaways are your number one go to!
There are so many ways you can push items that are not selling and when people receive them they end up loving them because it’s something they thought they would never wear!:)
I cannot wait to start this amazing business and they have gotten so much better with shipping now and are opening another warehouse!!
The business is still way up there and it is all the way that you sell and how much time you actually put into your business.
If you want this business as a hobby then your going to get paid like it’s one of you want this business as a full time job your going to get paid that amount and you have to love the product to sell it.
I’m sorry I’m done rambling but that is just what I think of the company and how I am going to succeed in this business for my family.

I’m in the same boat as you Kristin. I wanted to love this. I resigned from my full time job back in summer of 2016 to stay home with my son who’s now 2. LLR seemed like a great opportunity for me to still feel like I was contributing to my family while also being able to stay home with my little one. I get that when you run your own business, it’s ALOT of work! I’ve never been one to shy away from hard work and will always put my heart and soul into my job. I loved my career but needed to do what was best for my son. I’ve been a consultant since late October 2016 and what I’m realizing now is that maybe this just wasn’t the right time for me. I’ve got no beef with the company. They are doing the best they can and making improvements as their organization grows at a rapid rate. My issues is that I’m busting my butt to sell, get my group following up, posting religiously, set schedule so followers know when my shop is open, fun games, LOTS of giveaways, always offering host Insentives above and beyond what the company “norm” is, which is one pc for every 10 items sold, I open my house to people… I believe that I’m doing all I can to build my business, but here’s the problem, no matter what I do in my group, i still only have about 30 regular customers and maybe 50 active participants in my group (meaning they participate in stuff and buy from me and we have a relationship. Not just someone who’s here to take advantage of my giveaway and then never come back again). Plus, regardless of how much I offer in host incentives, NO ONE is booking pop up parties! I’ve been averaging one per month and that’s just not enough to get by. So with a small inactive group (even tho I’m close to 2k is members) and no pop ups, I’ve branched out to multi sales on face book. Which are a good way to reach a larger audience and make up sales, but they are also a time suck… it’s a lot of advertising, rules, loading pics, answering customers for a 24 hour period which is how long they usually run, PLUS my upline frowns on them. They say that we need to focus on building up our VIP group…. but hello! If I’m doing all I can to engage my group and am getting nowhere plus I’ve got no one booking pop ups, AND I NEED TO KEEP FRESH INVENTORY COMING IN WEEKLY, how else do you want me to make the money?? So this is where I am currently. My BIGGEST issue is that I’m spending so much time trying to build this business up that I forgot why I was doing this- my son… I resigned from the careeer I LOVED to be home with my son and thought this would be a fun thing for me and maybe make some money along the way (I wasn’t hoping to get rich quick). But now, I feel like Facebook and LuLaRoe own my life. I realize I’m constantly checking notifications, looking at my page, looking at my uplines pages, looking on how to grow and im missing my son… not to mention the hours of photos, planing, organizing, Shipping, live sales, etc… it’s like, why did I give up my job I loved for my son only to take on something that I don’t love and lose more time with my baby… plus I’m not making money. I want to believe that this is just temporary and hat eventually it will pay off, but how long do I let this go?? The guilt is setting in now and as much as failure is ever an option in my book, I think it may be time to just say I did what I could and this just wasn’t for me. Its not my uplines fault, it’s not the company’s fault, it’s perhaps not anyone’s fault… maybe it’s just not a fit for me. Any words or advice on where to go from here are encouraged. Lol. I haven’t cut the chord yet.. but writing this certainly helped put things into perspective for me as I have been struggling with all of this for a month now. If you’ve gone out of business, what were your first moves?

Hi Kris – Start off by admitting what you can and can’t do. I have friends who are still doing REALLY well with LLR, but I don’t have the heart in it anymore and writing it out on this blog really sealed it for me. I actually have 3 friends who are shoppers, not sellers, who are helping me put together final sales and then whatever doesn’t sell I am going to offer up to other consultants at WS, if I have anything left I may try and get rid of it on some of the LLR buy trade sell facebook pages but it’s kind of a toss up to try and figure it out and see where you go.

Hi Kris! I am in exactly the same boat as you! I started because I had hoped to be able to quit my full time job and stay at home doing LLR with my daughter. I love LLR and the clothing, but am realizing that I am just making enough money to pay off my inventory and purchase more. I have been telling myself that my time is money too! I am pretty sure I am going to start to get out soon, too. I didn’t do anything LuLa related for a week, and my daughter was so much happier. When the whole reason for doing it isn’t even working (and taking time away from my family) I know that it isn’t right. Would love to know if you ended up getting out or what your plans are, as I will likely follow!

as a customer and not a consultant I took some of the dresses and tops that don’t fit me anymore and sold them to consignment shops like “plato’s closet, my sister’s closet” they didn’t offer much but it gave me enough to pay my rent. you can also deny their offer but most times if you’re wanting to get rid of inventory that’s another option. they took my ugliest Amelia (my first piece I ever bought) it was a jacquard material in a teal color with white flowers and what looked like bird poop stains all over. I’ve also found many pieces sold at the DAV (department of armed veterans) thrift store. I got a lightly used perfect tee for $3.95.

It’s not a matter of which pieces sell and do not sell. what makes an item sell depends on print, material, demand (others liking & commenting). I’ve noticed being a customer that if something is popular meaning a lot of people are interested but not commenting “sold, mine, ect” that people are quicker to buy that item because of its popularity and the “I won” mentality. I’ve seen ugly pieces go out the door because of likes and comments. Also I’ve seen “unicorn prints” sell for $60+ without batting an eye. it’s a shame

Wow… I wish I had come across this before I signed up. I completely agree with the previous poster about this being something that might work better for someone not trying to also juggle a full-time job and young children. I’m already awake until 11pm at night because of my family and household obligations and then need to do LLR after that. It’s alot. When I joined just 1 year ago, there were only about 3,000 consultants. I loved that it was truly ’boutique’-ish and novel. While the culture is fine and I think the founders are great people, the growth and model together are challenging loyalty to consultants and just the sheer volume of inventory out there is crazy. LuLaRoe corporate can boast INSANE sales and production numbers… but I’m starting to wonder how many hundreds of thousands of items (or millions!) are sitting in people’s homes. I go back and forth about trying to put in more time or close up shop… but I can’t even find the time. So I’m sitting on about 800 pieces of inventory and can’t even get all my records ready for year end. It’s SO MUCH WORK. I don’t know that I’ve been able to give it a fair shake because of my time restrictions with work and a family, but I am definitely leaning toward getting out. Especially if there are more and more people getting out of it. I have some items that will sell quickly, but I have others I’ve had for a YEAR. We feel like retail operators taking the risk and buying at wholesale, but yet we don’t have the option to select patterns… and honestly, some of it just sits. And sits. Eek! I also can’t help but be curious why the company is not endorsed by the DSA (Direct Selling Association). I suspect they aren’t fans of the huge start up cost either. Every other direct sales company I’ve ever looked at is part of the DSA (Pampered Chef, Younique, etc.) I was so excited about this venture, but I think I made a mistake. 🙁 Even to sell off my inventory will take a HUGE investment of time. I hope everyone can read these posts and make the best informed decision for them.

Wow thank you so much for sharing! You make so many points I’ve never thought of! I agree I think the company had a great intention start but the small boutique has worn off and many people running into issues from quality control to yes those prints that just won’t move. The local boutique gets to choose colors and prints and you are definitely left all to chance. I hope you are able to move forward in one direction or the other <3

Ladies I am in the same boat. It has been a struggle since the beginning 5 months now! I have a friend that is getting out. I think I am on my way out too. I feel like they are definitely growing a lot faster than they can handle. I thought that this was a great opportunity but now that I am on the inside I can honestly say it is not for me. I have 2 small children and it has taken a lot away from my family time. Not to mention I always seem to only break even. I plan to have lots of sales to get rid of my inventory. At this point I can’t wait to get rid of it! Good luck to all those ladies that are doing well and continuing on that journey!!

It sounds like the way the business is growing if you have any inkling that you should get out, do it now. Pretty soon it’s going to reach the level that many MLMs do where all the people on the bottom get stuck with a lot of obsolete product. I wish you well as you liquidate! I mean this gently, but sorry Sherry Katnic most of what you say is vague positivity that doesn’t address the real ways people have been let down by the business itself. It is interesting to me that you bring up the “going global” thing as if it will affect sellers in the US. There is no reason to believe the international sellers will be in US downlines–they will get a few people overseas to be top level in those countries, and everyone will be their down line. That is what will happen. US sellers don’t have a network overseas for the most part, and that’s what you need. Good businesses listen to feedback and adjust rather than dismiss those giving it. MLMs are notorious for blaming the low level people for the problems inherent to the business model.

Yea I honestly am thinking of getting out, making sure I can at the very least get my investment back (because I still have a LOT of pieces from my initial inventory left), and close my doors. I just don’t have the time anymore. I have enough credits in my account due to inventory defects to place 1 final order and I may do just that and say goodbye because I can’t handle the stress of it all anymore. My “team” because of the size now asks us to take part in weekly calls with each other, and honestly it’s too much, you can’t expect women who have full time jobs and families to work another full time job and remain 100% positive rays of sunshine. I’m burning from both ends of the candle and it’s cost me a lot of money and time I can’t get back to a degree. I’m chalking it up to a loss but a growing experience. I have a bunch of great pieces of clothing in my own closet, and I hope I can just pay off my initial investment or pay off enough of it so that I don’t owe too much more on my credit card 🙁

Would you be able to sell at wholesale prices through ebay or somewhere like that to recoup your initial investment? Or sell to friends, I suppose – or would that be a problem, to sell at wholesale like that?

I wonder about that – I have a friend who is thinking about getting out of LLR for a lot of these same reasons, and I don’t really know what her options even are! Maybe try to find another consultant to sell to at wholesale?

I don’t know how it all works and honestly I don’t care. I wanted to do the LLR but investment was way to much and you have you rules to follow.. My sister joined and just got on board approx a month ago. Took her forever to get inventory.
I love the clothes but, LLR is doing sloppy work these days. I bought wholesale from a lady going out of business, there’s quite a few leaving LLR…
Good luck, if you decide to sale wholesale let me know and I’ll ask my sister.

I’m in the queue at the moment and I’m slightly confused by everyone that is trying to get out and having problem with inventory. Doesn’t the company buy back the inventory at 85% of the WS price? Technically you wouldn’t be out that much if the company buys it back.

I’m getting out. I’ve been in a year. Made trainer and have/had a team of 17. 6 ladies have quit within the last 4 months. My top seller has $1,800 in backorders and is still awaiting her credits. She’s quitting also. Since, I’ve joined the “glitches” have just gotten worse.

I’m sad. I did make a lot of money in the beginning… and, then something happened come August/September. Sadly, I quit my District Sales Manager position with a popular beauty company I was with for over 8 years. I can’t ever go back. I will always regret that.

Trust me ladies. I feel the “I told you so” look from my fiancé everyday. He doesn’t say it… but, I feel it. I to feel the initial LLR excitement has worn off with my customers and I know they do shop with at least 3-6 other local consultants. Not to mention the online groups they’re all in. There’s not much customer loyalty when it comes to the search for that “unicorn” pattern lol…

In any case, what made my final decision was this past Holiday season. 6 orders I placed in November for the 21 events/pop-ups I had scheduled up to Christmas never came until 2 days before Christmas. I sold what I had but… very disappointed.

    Time to reduce the stress.

I think the novelty of the “no more than 5000 of any print” “hunt for your unicorn” concept is kind of both LLR’s big selling point and its downfall at the same time. I think if the initial order was randomized, but consultants could request specific prints later on, that would help in a big way. Having to use fifteen different consultants to try and hunt for the print you saw once at a pop-up three sizes too small engenders a lack of loyalty to any specific consultant, and leaves consultants with possibly hundreds of prints that just won’t sell, and the people in charge of LLR can’t really know what prints don’t sell because they can’t track what their own consultants like/don’t like/request more of.

I will say it is enticing at first, and I have friends who are still selling and are selling $8K-15K a month, HOWEVER, their weekends are spent doing 2-3 parties and their weeks are full of working full time jobs and then working full time on this as well. Most of the women who do the best at this job either #1) Do not have a full time job or #2) Have a non 9-5 job – (i.e., teachers and nurses). That being said, I do work a 9-5 job, and this other full time job is just not for me and doesn’t work with having a young family.

I’m starting off small, doing big “sales” of sorts, slightly discounted, seeing how fast I can move inventory, place 1 last big order if you have credits with products you know will move, or with sizes you can “gift” to other people and leggings (because the leggings will always sell). From what I’ve heard and been given advice from others give people the chance to buy at sale prices for a few weeks, and then do a going out of business sale and charge $1-$4 over WS price plus shipping on every piece so you don’t lose money on the CC fees and shipping overages. One woman I saw who went out of business said in her sale “Zero shipping charges for pickup and $X discount for each piece when paid in cash” (That way you don’t have to deal with anything)

Ah this is where it gets complicated, because yes they will buy it back, but you will have to pay a 25% restocking fee on everything unless you can get it to be perfect back in the flimsy packaging they sometimes ship it with, like those leggings bags that seem so crappy well you can’t even open 1/2 the shirt bags without ripping them to shreds, and if they aren’t in those bags you have to pay the 25% fee which is a lot of money to eat.

An update regarding LLR buying inventory back:

They announced last week that consultants exiting the business can now email HO to begin the exiting process. From what I’ve been told, consultants will send in paperwork to request a shipping tag & fill out how much inventory they are sending back. Product has to be in good condition (tags still on, no odors, no stains, etc) to receive a full refund on “approved items.” A check will be mailed after that.

They decided to do a full refund because there were issues with consultants having GOOB sales & it was difficult to sell at full price if you weren’t leaving LLR. To me it’s unclear how they choose what is or isn’t an approved item that will receive a full refund. And by full refund do they mean the true WS cost or WS minus the additional discount given off the orders. It’s also unclear what they’ll do with items that were not approved/refunded.

This system is brand new and I’m waiting to see how it goes for other consultants leaving LLR before I ship my stuff back to HO. I’d prefer to make back more than WS for each item but realistically not everything is going to sell even at a discount.

WOW, my exact same story… My husband knows me all to well..
I love LLR, my closet is full since April over $300.00 plus.
There’s alot of comments going around these days, too many consultant’s and not enough inventory! I can’t or have never seen brown leggings, can’t find solid black anymore and I only will wear dark solid colors as I’m short and thighs are bigger than I wish.
As far as tops I like small Irmas and XL – 2XL Classics and all leggings, I have well over 200 pair in itself. I have found that whomever, whatever country are not practicing same sewing patterns… I have large and medium Irmas that are smaller than my smalls.. My Classics’s the problem is the neclkine, some are much lower!!
I wish all the consultant’s the best, I hope the backorders get caught up and material better..
My personal preference on material is 96% polyester & 4% spandex or 96% Rayon & 4% spandex.. heavier material that doesn’t cling to my belly…
Off and on I still have an interest in buying but not as I did before.
I wanted to sell, but I heard from my sister and other consultants you have absolutely no free time and if you do, it’s to sell LLR.
Good Luck and may all consultants do well and make their money back that they put into the beginning and then some…..
I miss getting all my pkgs!

I’m so glad I read this post and ALL of the comments. I was thinking about joining with my roommate, but haven’t been sure. This sold me on not doing it. The initial investment is CRAZY and while we’ve got a ton of potential in our area, it’s starting to get crowded with consultants. I already work a demanding job and need rest when I get home. The constant hustle that seems to be required with LLR doesn’t feel necessary for me. I think i’ll tell her she’s welcome to do it, and i’ll gladly be her assistant for a % of the profits. But other than that i’ll save my energy for my real job.

I wish I would’ve seen these posts before I signed on in November. I’ve made a YouTube video in hopes of sparing some people the huge letdown lularoe can be. Some people are just lucky. Their circles and networks are new to lularoe, they have the means to invest WAY more time and money than said initial investment package and have sponsors that don’t ditch out on you the second you sign up so therefore they can make a go of it. But for those who need to take a profit fairly quickly, this can be a devastating adventure. When I was researching this prior to signing on, everything I saw was fairytale. Everyone was selling at least $12,000/month, best life changing decision ever, ect. But that has not been my experience. The amount of work to get people to host parties- in home or online- is astronomical. And for me, only 1 out of 10 hostesses actually has a good party. I’ve spent entire days on the phone texting, calling, messaging to get hostesses- following all of the hostess prep tips and tricks and most of it is a waste of time. People just don’t want to have parties and if you convince them otherwise, most just checkout. And complaints to trainers/sponsors/home office kind of go unheard. Their answers are always to work harder, book even more parties. And this sisterhood they claim everyone has? BS. Team pages are swarming with bitch fest posts about hostesses, customers, other consultants not doing things by policy, ect. So negative. My immediate team I’ve had to kick out of my group because they copy everything that I do- to the point where shared customers are noticing. some have even go so far as to have unscheduled “parties” in their online group the same time as mine. I never imagined that this sisterhood would be so cut throat. I expected this behavior when I was in corporate world but this totally caught me off guard. I had no idea that my experience was more the norm. This past week I had three parties and only sold $300. I’m so let down by all of this but I’ve learned a lot. If I’d known then what I know now, I would’ve gone back to nursing school. I’m going to give it until the end of march to turn around, but if not, I’ll be joining the many in closing up shop.

I will say 1 more thing that will probably help a few of you make a decision is that they expect everyone to be on their conference calls and webinars……..which occur in the middle of the work day, and they say “You need to be on these calls, blah blah blah”, which is impossible if you are keeping a normal 9-5 or if you have small kiddos at home, mind you these are WEEKLY calls so it’s more of a full time job than most peoples full time jobs sometimes.

They real time all calls, and you can read the whole transcript. So this is really not an issue at all.

        May 2, 2017 at 11:05 pm

Like Dee Hope mentioned, you can read the transcript. It’s still an issue though because capsules (Halloween, Christmas, Elegant, Valentines, etc) are announced unexpectedly during these calls. They’ll give out details & show previews during the call which is vital info if each consultant needs to decide if they have the funds for the limited edition leggings on top of having to purchase regular inventory.

Holiday capsules are a whole other issue. They’ve made improvements but they should definitely have a better system after doing so many holiday capsule releases.

Wow! Thanks for this blog post. I debated selling LLR about a year and a half ago and decided to go with Rodan + Fields instead because of the lower start up cost, residual income, no inventory, everyone has skin vs not everyone wants leggings etc, lol. I’ve had a few friends join LLR in the past 5-6 months and I keep hearing how awesome it is and how they are making a ton of money. Since my R+F business is booming I have extra cash and figured that maybe I would add LLR and get people fabulous skincare AND fun clothes!! Like a one stop shop, haha. I’ve been doing a lot of research recently about LLR and now I’m completely freaked out to sell it. The math just doesn’t really add up as I’m looking more in depth at it. I think I’ll just stick to the business I currently have. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” right?! Thanks for this blog and for all of you ladies commenting below it!!!

So happy to help! I think this is a business that doesn’t really have a lot of loyalty to one consultant so when the area you live in or circle of friends is saturated with LLR consultants it can be super hard to keep sales booming. I think those who wary adapted are great ( and I sort of kick myself for not signing up in 2015 when I heard of it) but now it’s very hard to get that strong start which is critical to me in owning your own LLR business. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you share this with others thinking about joining as well!

Yea I would stick to your current business, honestly what LLR fails to tell new consultants too is that all the “giveaways” you’re thoroughly encouraged to do cuts into your bottom line, never mind they just had a call today that said “So yea leggings may get holes, but hey it’s only a small % so it is what it is” (more or less I’m heavily paraphrasing). Honestly I’m struggling to breakeven get out right now so keep your fingers crossed for me! PLEASE!!!

Ah! Kristen I’m so sorry! I started to get very crap quality clothes and that’s when I went back to buying the brands I knew and trusted not to suck or have horrible return policies. Holes are not ok! And what is worst is- the attitude of ” meh live with it”

Yes!!! The lack of loyalty is sort of annoying. I like my Preferred Customers I get from R+F. With LLR, people just jump from consultant to consultant depending on who has what they need. Which is sort of discouraging I can imagine if your friends buy from multiple people and aren’t “loyal” to just one consultant. And yes about damage!! I received a pair of LLR leggings and the first time I put them on, there was a huge hole in the seem of the leg. Right at the thigh. I contacted the consultant and she sweetly sent me another pair (but had to eat the shipping Since she didn’t charge me for that). I ended up texting the photo to my friend that had recently became a consultant. I figured I was being nice by giving her a heads up to make sure she checks her inventory before shipping it out! I would appreciate a heads up, especially when first starting my business. She wrote back saying this was rare and that if I saw anything else like this online that it was just because it was easy for people to complain online and this was not the norm and “not to worry if stuff like this happens” etc. All I kept thinking was “damn, one week in and she’s already overly defensive about this”. Lol. And no, I wasn’t “worried” but sort of a bummer when I find a pair of leggings that I like and they are busted. Especially since it’s not as if I can exchange them for another pair that’s the same!

Exactly. Someone try telling me it’s unusually for a knit brushed cotton to have holes? Hahaha they obviously don’t know a clue about fabric and big companies have quality control and can eat the cost of defectives a lot easier than a small LLR business owner. I’m out so much money on shipping for this – because I sought out certain items and didn’t buy local- it’s like a perfect storm

Can I just say – even as a customer, I hate the lack of loyalty. I have two consultants that I really like as human beings and would love to always use – but my style is the more subtle/abstract prints, solids, and slightly less vibrant colors and they can never guarantee they’ll have anything I’ll like come in in a new shipment. It’s really frustrating, because as a customer I’d really like to be loyal to a particular consultant or consultants!

            January 17, 2017 at 2:35 pm

Yea you’re taught early on to be defensive and “defend the brand” because it’s “SO RARE!” when it happens. It’s really not, a lot of consultants and even consumers don’t even bother to replace the leggings they have or even bother damaging them out because it’s a pain in the butt, or some consultants just take the tax write off as faulty merchandise rather than damaging them out to corporate. The problem is that you shouldn’t get holes in a pair of pants after wearing them 1-3x. The thing is if these were $10, like a pair of nylons nobody would bat an eye, but when you’re paying $25-$35 per pair (when you calculate in tax in some areas, and shipping), these things better not ever get holes and the higher ups don’t get that because they say “well it’s only $25!” It’s a corporation that is getting further and further out of touch with reality including saying things like “Well you just need to give your kids fast food if that helps you put more time into your business”. So out of touch with reality it’s not even funny.

Wow. I had a feeling it was like that when I was in the forever long waiting list. . Statements being thrown around gave me an uneasy stomach because I need to be able to fully stand behind what I’m saying and they were suggesting out of touch statements and so was my personal sponsor – but I was still blind. I can, but don’t want to, believe it- but it is so true! You know it’s got to only cost them like $2 to make those leggings and then to be sold for so much? Nope.

I 100% agree. I have my customer base too and I love that they have to be loyal to me. I obviously give them great service, extra and specials as thank yous for being loyal, but it makes the idea of residual income actually happen!

Starting 5-6 months ago you would’ve been great but now it’s not the same market. They onboard 250 new consultants daily. Also, per Llr policy, you would not be able to sell your other products with/near your Llr. They’d have to be completely separate and you wouldn’t be able to advertise on you Llr page or with your Llr customers your other business. It’s a tricky gray area.

*I can do it around my kids’ schedules (a message here a phjone call there, etc.).
*I don’t have to rely on friends hosting parties for me to sell anything: I can message or call someone up and get an order at ANY TIME!
        *NO inventory!!
        *No shipping to customers
        *ALL online!!
*Consumable product: customers use it and need to order more so they come back! I keep getting paid for work I did once!

If any folks are interested in liquidation of part or all their inventory I would be interested in talking to you about a workable deal. I would be selling the items at a discount to move them so there would have to be enough margin to make it worthwhile to both of us. But this may be a way you can’t get out from under a heavy inventory load. My email is [email protected]. I am not a consultant, just a fan of the brand who would like to create a win win situation.

Can I ask the question that has been burning in my mind since I first found out about LLR? WHY CAN’T YOU ORDER JUST LIKE AVON (or Mary Kay, or Arbonne, etc?)???? Even if the consultant was able to order specific prints or colors, if not the actual end customer, I think it would be a better model. I think a huge part of the problem is that, as someone mentioned, it’s almost impossible to get the leggings “standards” of black/navy/gray/brown, etc, instead going for all these insane (and oftentimes adorable) patterns and colors? I actually found this blog because I was researching that question. I get the idea of having the limited unicorn prints, but that doesn’t explain the lack of basics. Why not ship out a dozen pairs of black leggings to each new consultant? Guarantee they would sell faster than 2/3 of the prints they have now!

its a sense of false scarcity, I’m not a consultant, just a permanent popup hostess. if they can create a sense of scarcity with basic things that everybody and their mother wants then consultants can upset them in outfits and make more $$$. Because these crazy patterned unicorn pairs aren’t enough….

I’m so glad I found this post! I was a consultant at the very beginning. I signed on when there were only 1,000 consultants. I closed shop a year ago when they first began experiencing “growing pains”. At the time, I worked full time as a substitute teacher, owned a small business teaching guitar and had just started my blog. It was completely overwhelming and I received zero help from anyone. Everything everyone has said here is true. I signed up a few consultants before I closed up and they are all doing well (one is making 35k a month) BUT you have to sacrifice so much in the process. Looking back, I wonder where I would be had I stayed but then I think about everything I went through and am thankful that I got out before the madness and broke even. I actually wrote a very detailed, neutral post documenting my experience as well. I hope that this will help those that are on the fence. http://www.lizzieinlace.com/2015/04/picnic-with-lularoe.html?m=1

I think you made some good points here, and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. I’ve been a consultant with my sister for just over a year and I would say that we are successful, even still. Yes we definitely have some slow times and selling seasons, but overall we are making money and also reinvesting in our inventory. Maybe we got lucky in the timing when we signed up and were able to establish the customer base, I’m not sure. But we both have our own businesses as well as LLR, so we treat as such…a business that needs our time. When we ‘work the business’ we make a great income. When we put it to the side, we definitely don’t make money.

The Pollyanna attitude of the company definitely drives me crazy, as does the inconsistency in the fabrics across the manufacturers.
I believe they’re trying but they’re struggling with their crazy growth. Do I think we will be doing this 5 years from now? Probably not. But we are enjoying it now!

I joined in November 2015 and am toying with going out of business also. I work FT in a pretty demanding job, have 2 kids, and a husband who is not supportive of LLR at all. Recently, with changes being made in the P&P as well as all kinds of rules not allowing me to post sales or advertise my business on certain sites the business is just not sustainable for me. We are told over and over to “think like a retailer” but what retailer is not allowed to have sales? What retailer is not allowed to advertise? It has really caused me to become disenchanted with a company that I’ve only had respect for up until this point. I, personally, get the feeling that part-time consultants with small downlines (I have 2 but have not been a heavy recruiter by any means) aren’t valued and that they’re almost trying to “weed us out” with all the changes. I’ve said for a long time that when it stopped being fun for me I would no longer do it and I believe I’m at that point. I get messages all day from people with damaged items, wanting to know when their items are shipping, or wanting to know if I have a random print. I avoid logging into my FB because I dread having to answer all the questions or address all the concerns from customers. I’m a little overwhelmed at the prospect of getting rid of the 700 pieces of inventory I have accumulated and am honestly thinking of just eating the “restocking fee” and sending it all back to be done.

Holly if you ever want to talk let me know, I’m in that same boat! I DREAD opening up my facebook, and as much as I post, it’s 1/2 hearted. Thankfully I have a very supportive family member who LOVES to buy, and she’s helping me have a few last big pushes to move my inventory, then I’m doing a liquidation sale, the push to make this your full time life is killing me. One of the calls recently said “be okay with giving your kids just some mac and cheese so you can focus on your business”, but that’s not why I did this, I want to have more time and money to use on my family not spending all day everyday on this business and nothing else! I’ve also heard rumblings of them enforcing the not using social media as a selling tool (if you’ve read your agreement that you signed up with it says you will not use social media to host sales), so if they did that for real it would be impossible for those of us who don’t make it our full time lives to do it at all.

No Ebay, no Mercari, in fact there’s been rumblings that they’re going to start pushing back on the facebook sales but they’re still so successful that they’re kind of wishy washy on that. Technically all the ladies who are using “Shop the Roe” and all those other apps are violating the terms of their agreements, it’s all very difficult to navigate and honestly it’s getting more and more complex as time goes on.

          • Kristin says

            February 16, 2017 at 3:07 pm

They would need to just do in-home pop-up’s, they’ve shifted to a culture of pushing in person sales anyway, currently you’re not allowed to sell at store’s or at flea markets, but you can sell at craft fairs or other open market’s. The business started because the founder sold hand made skirts at outdoor pop up’s, they like that culture of things and want to continue it, so they actually prefer offline sales instead.

          • Katie says

            February 16, 2017 at 3:12 pm

That would handicap almost every single successful consultant I’ve ever seen. Most of them are making 2/3 of their sales online via Fb or Roe With Me/various apps. Without that avenue they’d probably lose a LOT of consultants fast. Which I suppose might help the “too many consultants” problem…

Wow, I can’t imagine looking at people who are successfully running an in-home LulaRoe business and thinking, “We should definitely make it harder for them and make it more likely they’ll lose profits and quit, because our founder liked selling in-person.” I mean, I’m a little defensive because the most successful consultant I know has two disabled children and simply could NOT only sell in-person, her kids need her to be home and it’s easier for her to sell via FB where she can step away as needed. She makes enough to cover nearly all their medical expenses right now. I can’t imagine her having to give up nearly all of her LLR income for that.

Plus, that means you really couldn’t ever find your ideal prints/patterns, because you’d never be able to look for them online.

This “in-person only” just seems like a terrible idea all-around.

          • Kristin says

            February 16, 2017 at 3:15 pm

Honestly I don’t think they’d ever pull facebook as a selling tool, but the others are iffy at best right now, the other options are definitive no-no’s and will void and cancel the distribution agreements. Honestly it’s funny because I see left and right going out of business sale’s, it seems like you’re going to have just your core group of super successful ladies soon which good on them, but those are the ones who are able to dedicate 25-35+ hours per week to this business, and when you’re putting that much time/effort in it’s more full time than part time.

          • Katie says

            February 16, 2017 at 3:19 pm

Yeah, I definitely agree that the successful consultants I know are working this FT, not part-time, and seem to have been those who started selling first or at least very early in their communities.

I honestly feel like the rise of the ‘Roe With Me’ and various selling apps should be a pretty big shout-out to the home office to adapt to the online marketplace nad put in place their own online-selling app. I’m surprised they don’t do that already, like most of the DS businesses these days do – I can purchase online for Thirty-One Bags, Noonday, etc via a “your consultant” page. It doesn’t seem like a difficult system to set up, even with the LLR “limited run” concept.

I was waiting for a call when I decided not to sell LLR. I told them I decided I was not going to move forward. I never purchased any inventory but did fill out paper work which is required to be on the wait list. Any insight is appropriated.

They did not charge me anything, and I did not send any information in forms of a resignation either. I sent in paperwork as well and *Assume* they just deleted and moved on. I saw my phone call with them as the deciding not to move forward.

Jen they won’t do anything, they’ll just move on, they usually will call you 2x and if you don’t call them back you would have to go back on the wait list. When they call you the first question they ask is “Are you ready to onboard today?” so if you change your mind and get the phone call and answer you can just say “I’m not”, or just ignore the phone call 😉

Despite reading EVERY review. If you are good with money, you put in the TIME and WORK and PATIENCE I believe this company millwork for you. Me and my husbands financial advisor and accountant do it and are successful. I showed them this thread and they have had very minimal issues with product OR customer service. Not sure if its bad luck or people losing patience but I’m happy to be a part of it and couldn’t ask for a better company. Me, my husband and our 2 year old would never invest in something that will lose us money. To each their own.

I think it takes a lot of work, luck, and more work. I also think people ran into situations that were not handed well, and the bad taste left in their mouth couldn’t override the success possible. It is not for everyone, and yes to each their own definitely! I personally know over 20 consultants less than a 5 minute drive from my own house- my market is over saturated, and I knew I was not going to love the work it would take to sell online along with in home party competition from over 20 other ladies. I DO think it is a good investment, and retail business for people who are willing to work, and put in the time. I personally would not have the patience for incompetence for a lot of these unlucky situations listed below though. Thank you for sharing! I hope those interested in the business are inspired by your story.

Thought I would add a view from a buyer that for those interested in being a consultant.

I did do a ton of online research on LLR before even buying a pair of leggings. I was skeptical to purchase because I didn’t want to throw away money on something that wouldn’t fit or was poorly made. I am 5’9 and depending on where I shop I can be a size 8-12 Long- anyone that has to buy Long in pants will tell you that bigger is not longer. So I had a hard time figuring out whether to go with the TC or not – after all needing something longer isn’t necessarily the same as needing it to be wider or bigger so I have a hard time believing that something would fit a 12-22 and also be long enough. As much as I would love to live in leggings and yoga pants its not practical for the business/corporate world. Third: From what I’ve seen with the leggings at least the tags are included loose in the bag – so if you are looking for a deal on unicorn or non-unicorn print on any site (even some of the social media groups not just Poshmark, Ebay, etc.) its skeptical whether items are actually new, unworn or NWOT – so you have to really trust who you get them from (which goes into what has been mentioned about damages and poor quality in the other posts).

Clearly I overthink before I buy but I am not a big online shopper because I like to try things on and make sure they fit. In the end I did end up buying my first pair last week from an extended family member which felt like an ordeal with the commenting and random sale times. While I like them I don’t necessarily LOVE them. Yes – these may be the softest pants I’ve worn in a while so they are very comfortable. But they aren’t the best fit. For a tall/long they could be a bit longer (they are right at my ankles so not too short but not ideal) and they cover my rear so that is nice but they are a bit too big around my waist (apparently I am “between sizes” – but I can’t go to OS because they wouldn’t be long enough).

All in all the experience was alright and while I was open to buying a different pair if I found the right print I came across something that really bothered that I was unaware of: LLR HAS A LOT OF CULTURALLY APPROPRIATED and RACIST PRINTS. I have yet to see anyone mention this I will share this link but if you google you will find similar articles. Note: They did do a voluntary recall but I saw several LLR consultant posts about the purpose of the recall (for print #6 in the article specifically) was for defects (holes, etc.) rather than be honest and let people know they purchased something seriously offensive.

If the startup cost is as much as $6,500, I would highly recommend considering starting your own, independent business instead. If I had that money in savings, I would use it as a financial cushion and start my own freelance business, or dedicate more time to monetizing my blog. Don’t sell yourself short.

I have a huge problem with direct sales programs, especially ones that try to sell a dream to women, but don’t regulate the number of consultants they approve. There is simply too much competition, and LuLaRoe quality is not high enough for customer retention, in my experience. I was very disappointed in the fabrics used.

Yes i was disappointed in the quality of the clothing as well. My one pair of leggings ripped within a week of buying them. I spent close to $50 on a nicole dress and the fabric is see through…..it sux because i love the shape and fit of the nicole dress but i think they could use a better fabric….esp for the price.

For those of you that have gotten out…were you a sponsor? The things they dont tell you until after the fact is when you become a sponsor, you have to order 175 pieces a month to get your bonus check off your Downline. Well 175 pieces is around $3000 roughly… I’m so discouraged. Anyway, what happens to your downline? IM ASsuming there is no sponsor and no one will earn a bonus off them so no one is going to help. I have girls in the queue and do not want to leave them hanging!

I don’t know if you should base if you close up shop or not, on your team in queue personally. I hoped someone would answer you on to what happens to your downline with experience. I know I was added to multiple groups for both my sponsor and her upline to help with the business, I would assume like most MLM your sponsor would become head of your downline.

If you quit, your downline falls under your sponsor. She’ll receive 3% of your directs (not 5%) and if one of your directs hit trainer, she will count as a trainer for your sponsor. Does that make sense>

I was/am a sponsor trying to get out, from everything I’ve found your down-line goes to whoever your up-line is. And the 175 piece thing is total garbage, it used to be lower and for the life of me can’t remember what it previously was but 175 pieces is REALLY a lot to ask someone to order to get a bonus that really is probably going to be good only 1x.

Well, I have an alternate story about LLR! I am a maker of the Marketing Materials that the LLR consultants purchase. This week, my ETSY shop was hit with an IP Trademark Infringement case against my small home based business by the lawyers at LuLaRoe!!! LLR consultants are given use of both the company name and logo to source materials for their small businesses. However, even if I am asked by a consultant to put the company name on the banner, I can’t advertise that this is something I can do for them?!?

This is such a gray area for me. Here’s why:

First of all, their trademark applies to clothing only. I am not making a clothing item.

Second, consultants have to purchase their own marketing materials. It is up to the consultant to make sure it is home office approved. The company isn’t providing this item to the consultants, they should be able to source it at a reasonable price from whomever they choose.

Third, ETSY is a handmade marketplace. There should be ZERO brand confusion about whether or not LuLaRoe is manufacturing business cards, banners, etc ! They are a brand of clothing, no reasonable person would enter LuLaRoe as a search and think that a string art and wood sign is coming from LLR!

I do not see how they are able to bully the small business owners that are supporting THEIR small business owners! Unfortunately, ETSY policy is to immediately deactivate a listing that someone complains about as an IP violation. They do not investigate or determine the validity of the claim… It is a lose-lose situation. Hundreds of sellers have been hit over the last few weeks. Many (like myself) sitting on an inventory of product that we can’t market or advertise that we have, but can sell it if someone asks us for it?!?…..

I will not purchase another piece of this clothing. I was willing to overlook the quality issues to support my friends on their journey. NOT ANYMORE!

Wow yeah, I am so sorry! This is such a mess, I wonder if they are attacking all you small businesses to start providing the only “approved” Marketing materials? I can’t believe Etsy won’t even investigate, apparently doesn’t want to get its hands dirty either.

They hit sellers that were selling home office approved marketing packages. You cannot display the LLR name or square logo in any image, use the company name in the description, title or otherwise say it is for LuLaRoe. EVEN IF YOUR DESIGN IS APPROVED!!! I have seen some digital sellers change out their listings to a placeholder logo, but they have to say “I can change this out to your company logo, but you need to specifically ask me to do so”.

Here is what I see happening…LLR is going to move all marketing materials to an in-house designer. So consultants will only be able to shop from the ‘company store’ for all their items. As if consultants don’t pay enough to get started, they will then have to give the company more money if they want to advertise? They were watching waaayyyy too much money fly out the window, guarantee this is a cash grab.

I can understand having a unified look for business cards, mailers or items that will go out into circulation. I get it, keep the brand standard. But I was literally making custom cloth banners for these ladies LuLaRooms at their house! How can the home office tell them how they can decorate for their parties?!? It is my fault for using the name, but the consultants have use of the name & are asking me by proxy to create this for them. They don’t have time to sit down and make a banner while they are trying to start their business…

@NicoleLeary I don’t have anything for R+F. I have deactivated all my other MLM listings until I can figure out a work around.

As someone who is involved in another MLM company( and is doing pretty well) I looked into Lularoe. I did a ton of research before I joined my current company and was a long time user as well. I saw the boom of Lularoe and just wanted to see what their business model looked like. For me there were some huge factors that put off red flags everywhere.
    1) not supported by the DSA. The company I am currently in is ranked among their highest.
    2) saturation of competitive consultants
    3) an “F” rating by the BBB…. that’s like really really bad, for people who do not know that.
    4) glassdoor reviews that were all terrible and a bad rating. Now I get that not all happy people will talk on there, however, this is one of the only places Lularoe cant take down any bad comments. It was saturated with them. Only 30% of people would recommend the business to a friend, compared to the company I represent which is 67%. With an A plus rating.
    5) The biggest one for me …. NOT A CONSUMABLE PRODUCT! People can only have so many pairs of leggings! A product that must be replaced frequently is where the MLM business is at.
    6) parties, collecting money, shipping, dealing with returns, photographing, ugh ugh ugh.. I cant imagine having to give up a whole room in my house, chase people down for money, host party after party, post office run after post office run, stocking product…. plus spend all that money upfront! You are stuck with the crap pieces. Kinda genius on lularoes part.. but not so great for the consultant.
    7) not a side gig. the business I have is truly a “side gig” I am a mom, wife, nurse, business owner, homeowner, and mother to a paralyzed dog ( yes she has a wheelchair). I still find time to make myself successful and its growing more and more everyday. instantly I saw how much work this would be.. and how this is not a side job. If you want to be successful you have to be able to devote tons of time to it.. and really isn’t that what people are trying to NOT do by getting into a MLM business. Isnt the goal to have MORE time for family? I spend 2-4 hours a week max. the rest is for my family.. and so far that is working well.
    8) my husband works in the fashion industry and is always at the forefront of what trend is ending and what is coming up. Leggings are being knocked off big time in China, which always means an end to the trend here. fashion constantly changes. Leggings will be gone soon… so that means that unless they have plans to keep up with “buttery soft” whatever is cool next.. they will be done. Not to mention.. they buy these leggings for $1.50 a pair… then we buy them for $25. eesh! Yes this is a fact, my husband was at a convention with their suppliers.
Having said all that.. I am not trying to bash the brand at all. I own 2 pairs of leggings, 2 irmas and a classic. True confession time.. lol.
The business though.. just not a smart investment in my personal opinion.. I have a friend who is currently in “the queue” and I hope so badly she sees the light on the business end. She loves the clothes so I think that love is getting in the way of a wise choice. I feel so badly for everyone who invested so much money and is having a hard time. I hope you can get most of it back! Anyone who wants to sell me some of their inventory.. email me your prices:)
    Good luck to everyone!

I’ve always wondered what their manufacture price was! $1.50! Haha…I knew I was getting screwed, but not to that level! Thanks for the info. I’ll still buy lularoe to be honest- but I’m at the point now where I only buy from consultants going out of business and selling practically at wholesale- and there’s SO many of them that it’s not hard to do.

Hey Ashley, This just in…. Things are changing and they are changing for the most awesomeness rewards for us…. I am soo super excited… also if anyone is thinking on Joining they will want to get in before April1st… This is a note from my sponsor –> Also, just an inside tip- if your girls have others that want join- encourage them to have them click their link and get in the queue before April 1st! After that a new onboard cannot sponsor until you have sold $10k and held 10 pop ups. It wouldn’t take long but they are going to slow things down this way. So no more quebies under quebies or newbies… Now this is a good thing because we won’t have people who do not know the business adding on quebies but also if you have a strong personality and good business sense.. then it would benefit you to get in sooner rather than after April 1st, 2017… I am so glad I got in when I did and honestly am kicking myself that I did not join 3 years ago when I ran into this… I was like there is NO way these crazy prints are going to sell… damn… oh well I am in now… and I plan on being here for everyone I can help… not just people on my team… I’m a LuLa Advocate Ashley.. 😉

See anyone who signed up and is struggling… they did not get into this business and invest 5k plus to quit…. We can all do well… so while I sit here motivating others I myself am motivated too… A girlfriend of mine reminded me about something… she said “Sherri you are helping everyone else, what are you doing for yourself.?” Well I did not know how to answer that question… See I raised my kids to do unto others.. You know what I mean? The golden rule… it is, I believe one of the keys to having a happy life… and that is hugely important to me right now… and a part of my Why… I want to help others succeed at this…

I see the vision that the owners have.. for this entire world… Deanne whole heartedly believes she has come across an opportunity for world peace thru LuLaRoe.. LOL… She is so sweet, and so cute… and God bless her, I hope and wish that were true…The World is a hard place… and when you hear the stinkin’ cute stories about her and her family and you watch her videos… Their struggles, their triumphs and how they are blessing people… That is HER… it is REAL…. The Stidham’s are super humble, amazing and kind… caring… When people leave, she is sad… she wants everyone to succeed… She wants people to put food on the table and a roof over everyone’s head..

Big things are coming… I know, I feel it, I’ve witnessed some… and what’s wrong with filling our hearts with hope, faith, love, trust, the feeling of being able to help others??… Telling someone I believe in you. or you inspire me. It’s huge.. as humans we crave that… We want acceptance, we want to serve others and have a purpose etc… “Lead with Perspective”… It’s so crucial and so important.. We adapt and we evolve… and we grow… This is the driving force behind this company… It is contagious… the clothing is highly addictive… But it is the simple philosophy that gets you, … Be kind, be helpful, be loving, share, create, be free, be home, be present. Be YOU…

You should know, I got into LuLaRoe without owning one single piece of clothing… I wanted to be beneficial to my family, I wanted to help contribute, I wanted to be home more and be a better mommy, and wife and daughter etc… Well those things have been answered… I am already a better person for having joined — and yes I get, that, I always was this better person 😉 but it took this big initial step for me to see this… for me to realize this… and I am doing so much more than I thought I ever could… and now I am not only helping my family but I am helping others as well…. and that gives me a feeling that makes me so happy… I just love love love it… Another huge plus — I got rid of ALOT of my clothing that I was holding onto.. One day I will wear this type attitude.. The kind that takes up all the closet space so your husband has to use the guest bedroom or hallway closets… LOL… the I can’t let go of my clothes… ya know? *BUT I do still have my American Eagle Jeans.. and tank tops and flip flops that I could never live without…. 🙂

WITHOUT the clothing–this is what I would be doing…. Because I did not join with clothing (none in fact) I joined with hope, and love and faith… that this MOVEMENT, the Stidham’s are constantly talking about is REAL… and while there are the negative people out there… for every one person that says this is bad news, there are 100’s more if not 1000’s, soon to be 10’s of thousands.. that will say LuLaRoe is AMAZING, it is AWESOME, it is INSPIRING me to change my life… to be the person I was intended to be… I can rise up and meet the daily challenges and help other people to do the same…

Ashley you are amazing… it takes alot to realize that something is not right for you…. and it also is another thing entirely to realize it is…. I love that your hubby knew you would be over it before you started… When tattoos were popular back in the 90’s I was like I am going to go get a tramp stamp… (that is a tattoo on your back just above your booty… 😉 my little sister was LIKE Sherri–go get it in Henna and see if you could live with it for longer than a week or two… LOL…she knows me.. 🙂 and she was right… I hated it..and I couldn’t wait till it wore off…. But I do color my hair blonde highlights and went dark a few times and man I could not wait to get back to BLONDE again and I’ve been blonde since I was 16 years old… So some things work and others don’t… With LuLaRoe it works for me… I love love love it as you can see… and yeah I am a dork… I laugh at myself often…

I will leave with the Mission Statement “Their Why?” of the Company which I am sure many of you have heard… I repeat it every day to myself and I use to share it every day on Periscope… Which I am sure to be doing soon again…

The LuLaRoe Why: LuLaRoe; where through fashion we create freedom, serve others and strengthen families. A place where lives are being blessed and dreams achieved through love, confidence, purpose and growth.

I guess I better get to selling My LuLa.. 😉

Hugs and Happiness to you and yours…

          Hi Ashley,
I’m waiting for the call now! I was really excited until this past weekend. I’ve been reading a lot of negative comments from consultants. My main concern is that I won’t get inventory for a month or longer after I get the onboarding call and that inventory isn’t shipped consistently. When I place an order I need to know I’ll get it within the week. Did you sign up and then decline when you got the call? Do I still have an out if I haven’t bought anything yet? Would you share more about your experience? Thanks!

Yes. I declined when they called me. They can’t make you sign up /purchase anything and it was painless. I don’t regret not signing up AT ALL. I know some people have awesome success but the quality of clothes really bothers me among a much larger list as well. But there are still women out there killing it! Risks to me don’t always equal reward and it’s not always in my control.

If you are having 2nd thoughts AT ALL I would just say when they call you “I’m not ready yet, can I have more time?” And they will let you have more time. If you really want to do this, do it, but if you are having any real big doubts I would decline and just not bother. As Ashley said, risk doesn’t always equal reward. I know tons of people who have been very successful at this business, HOWEVER, those people have sacrificed quite a bit to gain that success, including time with their families, some have given up careers they worked a long time for with hope that this business continues 10+ years from now. You have to decide if at the end of the day if you were to fail at this would it sink you, would it do you in, would it be devastating or would it just be a hard patch you could work through?

Anonymous, I am getting out as we speak, and when I onboarded I waited just under 4 weeks for my inventory. And I live close to the home office where it ships! You will never know how long you have to wait for an order. There was one time that my (small) order got to me the next day, other times its always inconsistent. Sometimes one week, sometimes two weeks. I have placed orders in the past thinking I did it with plenty of time so that I could have the new inventory for a pop up or online sale and didn’t get in time. Think you can just pick up the phone and call home office to get an update on your order? Think again. It’s virtually impossible to get a hold of anybody at home office. The wait to talk to somebody can be up to 2 hours, and half the time your call will disconnect after an hour of being on hold. This is not a well oiled machine and may never be! Too many negatives for me to stay involved with this company. The pros far outweighed the cons for me.

Yes this I seriously considered it as well but thankfully we were not able to get the money for it and I chose a different company with $99 start up and support with an upline and academy I even make money back from my own sales and points to use for products or business materials! I love perfectly posh!

The problem with perfectly posh is you only make 20% at first so it takes $500 in sales to even make your $100 back. not only that but you are expected to use that $100 to create samples. I tried perfectly posh, I like it enough to keep using some of the products but selling it was a waste of effort to me.

This is what it is like with most of the $99 start up companies. If you only make 20-30% it isn’t worth all the time and energy. OR some of them (Younique) won’t pay you anything on your downline unless you have sold x amount for the month. Not really worth it.

I am from a small town in west Texas and I had never even heard of LulaRoe until recently! There are hardly any consultants at all in this area and there are so many towns that are close to me without anyone who sells nearby. That’s the one reason why I would love to start selling. Now reading comments I am on the fence!!?? If any of y’all were in my position would you still consider it? I can understand so many people who don’t like that there area is saturated with so many consultants but in my area with hardly anyone in 3 hour radius of me, would you still sell??

Personally that would have helped me jump in! It is always what you make of it – for most of these types of businesses. I could throw a rock and hit THREE consultants in just my loop. My area has over 30 ( yes 3-0) in a 30 minute drive. That totally made me go nope nope nope. I can honestly say if you think you can work hard and you have a fresh market with big plans- you can make anything work!

I have been a consultant for 8 months and I have very recently started thinking of closing up shop. Here are the big things for me. We eat meals at our dining room table IN MY OFFICE because our entire living room/breakfast area is racks and bins and boxes and shipping tables, etc. I do not have a small home, it’s over 3000sqft. Bless those that are doing this out of an apartment. I do pop ups in my home because hauling 1000 pieces of inventory somewhere else is not happening. So my kids are relegated upstairs to their rooms while strangers roam freely in our home. My family is very supportive but my gosh I want my house back. Also, they tell you to talk to everyone, hand out your card, tell them about your business, talk, talk, talk and you know what, that will work. The problem I have, I don’t want to. I don’t want to talk to strangers in the grocery store or when I’m getting my coffee. I don’t want my neighbors or teachers at the school to dodge me because they don’t want to get hit up to host a party. My entire identity has become “The Lula Lady”. I was ramping up in sales but now I hustle my butt to make enough to make a payment on the loan I took and to buy one box of inventory every couple of weeks.
My husband got offered an amazing new job in Charleston so we have been house hunting. All I can think about is where all the LLR is going to go. This is supposed to be our dream house and I can’t get past, how I am going to cram the kids into their bedrooms so I can use the media room to store inventory.
There is always this nagging anxiety that you aren’t doing enough. Not taking enough pictures, not posting to social media enough, not ordering enough, not booking enough, not recruiting enough…it’s just never enough.

I am currently getting out of this business. I started 8 months ago. I am one away from trainer and cruise qualified 5 months in a row (unfortunately the new year came around, so no cruise for me)…but, I really believe the market is oversaturatrd and I have seen my sales along with others go down. Some of these girls are coaches in the company and their weekly sales have dropped. My biggest reason for leaving is the time sacrificed with my family, and despite the advice of the owners…I don’t want to get a nanny or hire someone to watch my kids while I work this business . Secondly, I’m not a fan of not picking prints and the unicorn hunters that just want a certain print. The quality of the clothes and damages that I get in weekly from customers is ridiculous. I’ve also heard some “uppers” in the company tell their customers they handpicked items….ummm…not a fair playing ground. Yes, favorites in the company is very real…didn’t think it was true at first but it is. This is not a full time gig, but more than that-I’d say 60 plus hours a week! I’m not into “fluff” yet I’m super positive…but also realistic. So, I’m just not getting good vibes and my gut is saying get out…and lots of prayer. So, hope that helps…oh and once I actually started paying myself, it’s like it wasn’t enough for online shoppers, 1-2 boxes a week isn’t good enough. Shoppers are catching on to all The shops going out of business and shopping there. I was lucky to get out with profit and not a loss….

The initial start up is quite steep. The clothes do not appeal to everyone, realistically, it’s a niche market.
After receiving an in house party invite through Facebook, not knowing what products were available, I thought it was kitchen/gadget/housewares, I blindly accepted.
A few days before the ‘party’, I Googled the brand, hoping to put a wish list together.
Oh. My. Gosh…was I surprised to see the plethora of mismatched, glaringly hideous patterns.
I went to the party anyways, actually found a dress, with a not so dizzying pattern I liked in a larger size. When I inquired if this dress could be ordered in a large, I was then informed about what will likely lead to Lularoes downfall. Of course it can be ordered in the size needed. The company however decides what print would be arriving. Um, no. For that price, I want to order EXACTLY what I want to order.
Some of the prints are ridiculous.
When my friend went into the ‘be a consultant’ sales pitch, I tuned out.
I, with good conscious, can’t see plunking down several thousand dollars to help woman regress and dress like toddlers.
I’m thinking this trend will quickly come to a stall. After seeing the majority of what is offered in the clothing line, for the prices vs quality, it will run its course.

If anyone here ever wanted to sell Lularoe badly but had sticker shock, there is hope. I buy leggings and sell them to retailer’s and reseller’s for a very low price. Super soft, super comfy leggings with all kinds of cute, funky and different patterns. Excellent quality and you can afford to sell these anywhere from $10-$25 dollars. (It depends on your clients and your selling ability) AnywayI know this sounds like a scam, i’d be skeptical but its not! A lot of places have product marked up so high and I don’t . Goldenphoenixboutique.com to see a few of the leggings that I sell retail. There are always new styles coming in and all sizes from Children’s to 3X/4X! contact us on our website if you are interested and we can talk more.

So glad that I decided not to sell LLR. They’ve been slapped with yet another lawsuit for their crappy quality clothing. It’s such a shame because I love their stylish, comfy clothing line, but I expect better quality. But I didn’t learn that until later, so it wasn’t the reason that I decided against selling LLR. That decision was easy – I didn’t like the thought of having no control over the clothing patterns I purchased because I’ve seen way too many patterns that just.don’t.sell. And those poor LLR reps are like little hamsters on a wheel – constantly peddling clothing over social media so that they can continue to make the required monthly purchase from LLR. The only people I see clearly profiting is LLR and they’ve made it clear to me that they have no concern about their responsibility for quality control – both in the discrepancy of OS leggings size or the quality of their clothing. They just happily refer consumers with complaints to the reps. With all the current lawsuits they face, it wouldn’t surprise me if LLR isn’t around five years from now. Just my opinion…

I love all of the comments. I am not a consultant and I don’t even wear the clothes (not a fan of prints) but I host live events and I have a lot of clients who are LLR consultants and many of them are doing fabulous with the company.

Please keep in mind, LLR is a new company. Like all new companies, they are going to have bugs to work out and customer service issues. It takes time to have all aspects of any business strong. Not making excuses for them, there are no excuses for poor customer service, but I do believe the company has honorable intentions and from what my clients say, they are working on fixing the problems.

I read all of the comments in this thread and the one that stands out to me is the gal who called Avon and Tupperware a pyramid scheme? Really? Of course there are some scams out there but Avon started their company in 1886 and has employed women every since. Women couldn’t even vote in 1886 but they could have their own business thanks to Avon. Tupperware started in 1946. These companies have helped millions of women (and some men), around the world live a better life, feed their families, pay their bills…..and allows these women freedom to work from home so they can care for their families while making a living. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS TO MENTION SCHEME IN THE SAME SENTENCE WITH AVON OR TUPPERWARE!

Haha preach!! And the fact pyramid schemes are not MLM – because multi level marketing is not illegal and just because building a team increases your pay – it’s a business due to selling products. People should google a pyramid scheme – then look at MLM as just CEO of your own company and your team your co pilots of building your brand.

Consultants are the LulaRoe customer. Once they have sold the thousands of dollars worth of clothing, and required thirty-three pieces a month, they have made their profit. Make no mistake- YOU are the customer, not the people you are selling to.

Thank you Ashley! This article was a very interesting read, as well as all of the comments. My heart truly breaks for the consultants that didn’t make it. Sure, you can get your money back out of the clothes through liquidation sales and such. But, I know firsthand how much work they put into it. I know all of the nights they stayed up until 3am taking pictures or packaging things. It’s just so sad when a dream unravels like that.

I will just say that this job is not for everyone. It’s a lot of work, especially in the beginning. But, you can be very successful with the right people supporting you. That means your spouse, family, friends and also the “team” you choose to sign up with. My sponsor has been amazing. We have been friends since high school and she is doing fabulously with LuLaRoe. She is the $20k in sales/month type. I am not there yet, and may never be, but I am having fun. And, every week things get easier. Truly, they do. I go to bed at a decent hour most nights now. 🙂

If anyone considering this opportunity ever wants to chat, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to share tips, as well as some of the “less than positive” truths that I’ve survived along the way. [email protected]

I’m a consultant with my sister and can seriously vouch for the other concerns about the company. But what really upset me about the company was an Instagram post made by Deanne, owner of LLR. Just before Easter, a child of one of the higher ups in LLR (who Deanne knows personally) tragically died. Deanne was in attendance and Instagram’d the LLR ladies at the funeral, and made it an Instagram marketing event/post. SO FRIGGIN’ SICK AND DISRESPECTFUL!! I’m so appalled at this.

    Hey Ashley,

    * April was a rough month for me… 🙁 I was sick for 3 weeks out of 4 weeks…. and I think I sold like a dozen or so things…. but in all honesty…. YOU get what you put into this business…. So I did not work much in APRIL and so that is why I did not sell much… The sales I did have I was part of a LuLa Crawl and had a few friends stop by and purchase from me… So not really even trying I sold about $700 in April… Of course I am in several sales today so the month is not over yet.. LOL… maybe I can get to $1000 for the month. 😉 Tomorrow will mark 4 years of LuLaRoe… The birthday leggings were sent out to consultants and what a freaking mess… I did not get any.. zero zip nada… With that being said some consultants got over 2 dozen pairs.. and albeit we were suppose to get only 2 pairs each… Keep one pair and gift the other pair… Not sure who was responsible for the screw up, but I hope they fire them… That is the type of stuff that LuLaRoe does not need… They do not need more screw-up’s… SO with that being said maybe I will be lucky enough to score a pair of birthday leggings…. I was planning on doing a mystery leggings with 10 pairs one being the birthday pair.. but oh well… So May I am putting it out there and saying it to the universe and you that I am going to work super hard this month to try to get to $6k in sales that would be an over $3k profit…… See I spend alot of my time talking with people about lularoe and helping people sell their lularoe.. LOL…. So this next month I am going to work on me… You probably can understand this as you have this amazing blog that you are constantly helping people with advice, information, etc… I saw a few people here looking for my contact information…. Anyone can find me on FACEBOOK under LuLaRoe now with Sherri Katnic or under Lightning LuLa Bugs the huge multi I run and own… There is going to be a huge announcement in May–LuLaRoe is reporting that it will be a game changer for consultants… idk what it is…. But I am guessing we will find out May 2nd on the Tuesday training call/webinar… Every Monday there is a Quebie call/webinar so if anyone wants that so they can listen in and see if that helps anyone decide not to join or to join I am happy to connect them with that. Also my team has a Q & A call, So if anyone needs info they can get it there too… so just look me up etc.. and I have Gmail too… so anyone can email me at my Gmail… for lularoesherrikatnic…. Lately my life has been very hectic…. Illness was definitely not my friend in April.. Now my husband and 13 year old are sick… Because I did not do much $$$$ in April, I am planning a swap with a local consultant to freshen up my inventory… A swap is when you trade your duplicates or your old inventory with another consultant to freshen your inventory up and have new stuff to put in front of your customers eyes… as even though there are several… and I mean several like in dozens of consultants in my area… Most of us still have different customers… So swapping works out to be pretty amazing… Keeps our inventory fresh and we get to chat and swap… I also think I am going to do a DESTASH in about 2 weeks and move stuff at 25% off…. Oh another very cool thing is the NEW and improved RETURN/REFUND/EXCHANGE policy with LuLaRoe….

SO I sat on this for a week and I am going to finish up writing it…

    * It is my opinion that LLR is for the individual retailer what they put into it. Right now for me I am slow – and not working alot. I was sick in April and do that I stopped LLR & took care of me… with that being said I have a business model I follow… to make sure I have success.. It works for me, it may not work for everyone…. But I have 3 friends using the same model and it works for all of us. .. What I have seen is the people that got into this thinking the clothing sells itself, well to a degree it does.. It’s super popular and trendy right now… I will still be here a year from now… Why? Because all this negative hype… Won’t last.. & really at 4 years in this is as I said before I baby company that will go global. and is quickly becoming a positive household name. The positive outweighs the negative by far… I get what I put into this business.. & I have never had to work 18 hour days.. that’s nuts!! If you are doing that re-evaluate what you are doing… Spend some time in the back office with time management and make some changes. I myself find that I too need to tweak things here in there and adjust to the changes etc… If you got into this business because you wanted to be rich overnight then you got into it for the wrong reason. LLR is more of a BRAND with a Mission to serve people, help people and be there for people… Bless people…

Do you know why one business closes on the same street yet another stays open… Quality, Service and you… I personally quality check every garment that comes out of the box… I quality check again before I ship it out as well. there by, keeping my returns, exchanges and refunds down.. Even a giant dept. store like Macy’s has QUALITY issues, but people still shop there… right? and you’ll pay $150 for a pair of designer jeans or $500+ for an expensive purse… etc.. SO $25 for a pair of leggings many of which I own… and I have had 2 pairs of my own get damaged.. One I put a hole thru the top of the rear while pulling them up… They were a little extra baggy TC and I was pulling them up, getting dressed & wham my finger nail punctured the leggings… Another pair I sat on a garage stool with jagged edges & snagged my leggings again on the bottom… 🙁

I get that people are upset, but really LLR is an amazing company to sell for. If you are not happy, if working at home selling LLR is not making you happy or that it is providing more stress in your life, then you should get out.. Leave, but do it with dignity, and kindness… I read someone said Mark and Deanne’s mansion….? LOL.. I have been to their small suburban home in Corona and it is a normal typical SO. Cal home. Maybe it is 3-4 bedroom/2 bath home.. in Corona, CA… If anyone knows that part of California then you know it is not that great… But You could not pay me to live in Corona.. Sorry Corona, but between the weather (which is just AWFUL)and the what looks like horrible crime rate I could not live there…I have a girl on my team that lives in Corona, Ca… and I go to visit her from time to time, it is 2 hours away from where I live on the coast… But I live in Ventura, it is gorgeous here… My rent is $2450 a month that does not include utilities either… WE definitely pay the price in CALI but then so do most of 3+ millions of people that live in Cali…

THE $10,300 BIRTHDAY leggings still bugs me: Because as you have already read It really did happen… So I did SEE a pair of birthday leggings in May of 2016 Black with streamers sell for $10,300 (those are the ones I wanted!) and I will go to my grave with that one because I SAW that auction myself… I even talked about it on Periscope multiple times not sure if I flipped the camera around but I was talking about it and people were responding to it so I will have to go back and look at my old periscope videos.. Why anyone would want to start crap with me over that is ridiculous.. I mean really… EBAY, what I know is that I saw an auction close with a closing bid of $10,300 & I don’t know the outcome of whether the person paid for it or not… I have also seen leggings on EBAY selling for $2000.. So there, you don’t believe me, I really don’t care but one thing for sure is I DON’T LIE.. EVER!

I constantly hear people talking about drinking the kool-aid or not drinking it etc….. That has very negative connotations considering that cult group back in the late 60’s or 70’s killed themselves Mass suicide Jim Jones style with Flavor aid… I get so tired of reading the negative but I do read it… because I learn from them. I learn what not to do or what to do… What works for some people might work for others or not work for others… Try not to compare yourself to anyone.

If you are thinking on getting into LuLaRoe it is a good company. Does have bumps in the road right now.. YES, it does… but they will be resolved.. and the haters well they will still be there…. BUT, more and more people are loving lularoe every day… and on that same note, people are getting upset and not liking the Kool-aid…(cough)… not sure what that ratio is but I know that the good outweighs the bad exponentially…

IF you are doing this for MONEY- DON’T JOIN
IF you are doing this to quit your FT overnight JOB- DON’T JOIN

LLR is a huge huge investment, it is a business… YOU have to work… You should set hours, make a schedule for yourself and delegate your work load effectively with LLR so that you can still spend that time with your family that you wanted.. & taking care of the things that matter in your life besides LLR.. I would never try to convince anyone to take that step and invest that much money on anything. It’s $5000 plus if you want to add leggings it is like another $700-$1000 to add about 60-100 pair

*I joined for all of those reasons….

If you join and take out a loan: Please pay your loan back. I keep reading in debt, in debt. I did not work much last month remember… BUT I sold enough to pay my loan payment back that I used to pay for my inventory. I sold enough to buy groceries for my family. I sold enough to go away for the weekend with my husband and fill my gas tank up. Take my 13 year old son to Carl’s Jr. and we went to Kohl’s and I bought him so Vans, 3 pairs of pants and some funny t-shirts… I think the funniest one was DEADPOOL riding a unicorn… LOL… Anyways so what I am trying to say is YES you will read HAPPY success stories and you will read not so happy stories of LLR retailers. People that are G.oing, O.ut, O.f, B.uisness Sales.. If you are getting out and closing your doors then I am sorry that this has happened to you and I am sorry it did not work out for you… BUT don’t ruin it for everyone else by speaking ill or nasty about it because you as you may say did not like the taste of the kool-aid. Especially if you really honestly did not work your business.. Albeit some of you did, and that is fine.. Who knows why it works for some and not for others?? … and it is not just the people at the top that it works for it works for people in all capacities… & in all levels… and on the other side of that it obviously has not worked out for some people… Are the G.O.O.B. sales hurting consultants/retailers sales.. YES it is.. BUT I get that you want to recoup your losses. BUT not everyone who says they are going out of Business, is.. Some are saying this just to move inventory… and everyone knows that a GOOB’er sale is usually half off… BUT not ALL RETAILERS/CONSULTANTS do this and you can NOW call LLR at (951) 737-7875 and you can get a full refund 100% of what you paid back on what you have left.. There is now an exiting process and people standing by to help you thru the exiting process…

Ouch another update- I was irked by the response someone made about the $10,300. pair of leggings SO I went on to eBay, Because I just hate when someone calls me a LIAR. when I most absolutely 150% NOT a LIAR.. There is LULAROE BIRTHDAY leggings on EBAY right now that SOLD (search completed listings for these) $11,700.00 with 29 bids… HELLO… and if anyone cannot find the listing I took a picture of it. You can contact me [email protected] or on FACEBOOK as Sherri Katnic. I will be happy to forward you the photo. I have already had many consultants/retailers reach out to me for much needed help that I am more than happy to give… Am I going to work my butt off this month selling LuLaRoe… Nah… But then again I don’t need to right now… I’ll make enough to pay my loan payment, take my teenage son out and spoil him a bit, Pay for my Zoloft (don’t need Kool-aid, I have Zoloft.. BWAAAHAHAHAHHAA!!!) and start planning my Summer vacation. and NO I am not rich. We live paycheck to paycheck right now… But what I need LLR to be for me is a BUFFER,I need something to keep me busy daily so I don’t go crazy while waiting for my W.C. case to finish up which will probably be another year on that whole BS… and provide extra money so I can still do fun things with my kid, pay off my loan, by a new car this year.. to haul my family and LLR around in plus use for all the awesome camping trips we like to take… I’ve met and made many new friends online an in person, thanks to LuLaRoe. For me LuLaRoe has been amazing and it has helped me begin to climb out of my PTSD shell. It ahs opened me up to surviving daily rather than living in a BALL of fear crying and sleeping all day… whisking my life away as deal with trauma that happened to me over 2 years ago.

MY WHY: is ME – ME! I have not been me for a while now, see I was injured at work well attacked really & my work did not support me or help me. In fact they escalated the problem and made things entirely worse.. and LONG story short LuLaRoe has saved me from all of that. After my case is over I may go back and continue working for my employer or maybe just maybe I will succeed despite others who are not… and I will be able to tell my employer NO thank you to returning to work or maybe just work 2-3 hours a day rather then 5.75-7 hours a day . If I can take care of me, If I can get up in the AM and do this job, this LulaRoe job.. If I can help other people that are doing this too. If I can keep a schedule and be home for my family too… Wow that is a HUGE BONUS for me.. a win win…. See by taking care of myself, I cover everything else…. and LuLaRoe motivates me to do this. I’d like to say that it was me that motivated me… BUT really it isn’t it is everything else about this company that makes me get up in the morning to face another day. It is a serious amount of work, if you think it’s easy it’s NOT… BUT it is your JOB, you’re the boss, you make your schedule. you set limits on yourself etc. If you want to put $1000 in the bank, or $10,000 the choice is yours… LLR has a business model that if used can lead to success… I use my own.. when I use it I am super successful… But like I said I am not racing to sell right now.. I am taking it easy… and I can afford to do this.. I sell what I need to sell… that’s it… simple really… and when I want to begin ramping up my business I will, but in my time.. DO I want to cruise qualify?.. Nah.. Can I-YEP sure can, BUT I want to go back to Hawaii…. I want to go to Washignton to see my mom, sister and son & DIL… so if I am making money I am going to where I want to go… I have a bucket List too but the Bahamas are not an immediate necessity on my bucket list.

Here is what you should know:

    *Can you fail,? Absolutely….
    *Can you be successful? ABSOLUTELY

*DO not join if you think that ONLINE sales is your ONLY source of selling.

    * The in person pop-ups, vendor events plus online via albums in Facebook, Instagram or Booteek, or swift order, Pinterest , Shoppewith.me or Shop the Roe — selling platforms.. and live sales via Facebook or Periscope, or YouTube in addition to one on one sales… etc…

    The choice really is yours…

**BUT, you may need to wait out the Goob’er Sales… 😉 they should not be much longer… Now that LLR stands behind their retailer and will give you back 100% of your investment if you so choose to get out of selling LuLaRoe…

NO restocking fee either, now how about that? Hooray I say… with more good news to be dropped soon with new “game changer” to soon sell… I do not know personally if I will be selling that new game changer.. 😉 but I am sure it will be awesome…

Again if anyone needs a LLR pep-talk you have a upline who has left the company or you never talk to your upline.. You can contact me… But reach out to them.. They are your go to person.. they should be there for you and if they are not go their upline’s upline or coach, mentor etc… But again I am happy to help…

I am a normally positive upbeat person, I try to help others, I live by the golden rule and have raised my kids to do the same… I am married to an amazing man who supports me and I support him… give and get.. Sort of like my lularoe business.. I get back what I put in.. Give and get .. I feel very fortunate that LLR exists for me… I love LLR… the good, the bad the growth spurts, the sickness and health… etc etc and so fourth… I’ll be here thru the ups and downs and the up agains… etc… That is what happens with most companies… Ups and downs… Countless other companies that are amazingly successful have had the same ups and downs… Have faith… I’m hearing George Michael in my head now.. LOL Gotta have faith, faith, faith…

So with a wink and a smile…. I’m off to slumber land.. Good night Ashley, Good night people, Good night moon…

Hugs and Happiness always (even if it is ZOLOFT induced 😉

There are other company’s out there than LLR which don’t promote themselves as a leggings company. The investment is much better in $$ and they promote positivity. Honey & Lace….to be [email protected]

I liked what you wrote you were being very transparent and honest. I think that before anyone should join any type of MLM, they need to research the history of the company. I know I did that when I became a wholesale member with Young Living Essential Oils. It was the Seed to Seal Promise that caught my eye. Also, people need to find something which has a small start up cost. Thousands of dollars for a MLM startup cost is not okay in my book. Everyone in this world has a desire for more freedom as individuals and their families. It can be a freedom of time, freedom from drowning finances ect… Whatever people choose to find that works for them is awesome to me! http://www.oilyhabit.com

You can try calling them and asking to be removed or wait for the call and just tell them you changed your mind. It’s up to you, I’ve heard wait times on hold are kind of long but worth a shot!

They have “limited prints” because they steal designs – go to the Facebook Deffective Leggins Group. They do this so when the artist finds out they can say they aren’t selling them anymore and then blame one random employee for over 100 and counting thefts.

Yes! Some even still have the designers watermark name on the print ON THE DRESSES! Just awful.

Wait, really? That’s not surprising, but it is disappointing.

I’m happy people are enthusiastic about their clothes and find fun prints that are difficult to get in more traditional stores, but I’ve come across far too many LLR products that are throw-away fashion quality and sold far above throw-away fashion prices, and it’s obvious corporate didn’t care about the voluminous complaints from consultants and their customers until the lawsuits came in. I bought pieces because a relative became a consultant, but about a quarter of the leggings were defective out of the bag or got holes on the first wear. Also, sizing is just not consistent at all, which makes it difficult to feel good about buying online, particularly when you know you can’t just return an item for the same print in a different size. If I could pay wholesale, I’d be willing to buy more, but this is not a company that maintains consistent quality, and I feel like the consultants are the ones that pay the price for most. They lose customers due to corporate’s bad decisions, but then are told that the consultants are the problem.

For all the consultants saying they paid off their initial purchase, what about the subsequent purchases? I know LLR strongly encourages placing weekly orders. Are people taking those numbers into account when saying they are all paid off? What about additional business costs and supplies? I know a lot of people in MLMs that, in order to justify feeling like they’re turning a profit, just don’t consider business costs and incidentals, or add in the money they “saved” by keeping items for themselves purchased at wholesale into their profits. I have a friend whose sister was consider signing on as a consultant with LLR, because supposedly the sister had a bunch of friends who were selling like crazy. I told my friend that, per LLR’s financial disclosures, the vast majority of consultants make only about $100 a year. My friend told her sister about that, and the sister confessed that all her consultant friends were currently maxed out on all their credit cards from buying inventory. Yet somehow she viewed these consultants as “successful.”

Another thing I really hate about the LLR culture-there is a huge emphasis (joking but also not really joking) on hiding purchases from husbands and how to get around husbands who are frustrated with their wife’s spending habits. There are a plethora of LLR memes about not telling your husband about the sales, and running to the delivery truck to get the packages before your husband sees them. On the live sales I see a lot of comments along he lines of, “Ooo, I really want this but my husband will be mad if he sees me buying any more.” Followed by lots of other people coaxing them with things like, “Tell him it’s for work” or “Tell him being a LLR addict is better than being a drug addict!” along with lots of, “My husband gets so mad, too, but you can never have too many dresses, right?” Except the same people are saying these things month after month in the sales, spending hundreds of dollars a month, potentially thousands a year. I was buying a piece now and then to support my relative, but I added up how much I had spent in three months and I was appalled. It was hundreds of dollars, and I have only bought two pieces that cost more than $35. At least $100, maybe more, was in low-quality leggings that got worn once before having to go in the trash. I felt guilty because it was a lot of money for casual pieces that couldn’t even double as professional wear or durable outdoor-wear. It doesn’t seem particularly healthy to encourage women to spend more money than what their partner is comfortable with. My relative consultant has two friends that want to join, but their husbands are dead set against it because of the cost, but on the sales, a bunch of other LLR enthusiasts keep prodding and egging and telling them to do it anyway. If my spouse spent $6,500 on something I thought was an unwise purchase, I would lose my mind. Husbands who are anything but 100% supportive are portrayed as these hurdles to overcome, not partners who probably do have a right to express disapproval of a spouse spending thousands of dollars on clothes a year, particularly if they don’t have a lot of disposable income to begin with. It really rubs me the wrong way, and it was one of the first things that started to give me bad feelings about the company.
