It is a new week ALREADY?! This month seems to be screaming past me! I am going to recap last week as I already posted each workout (almost?) on each day as todays training fell short so I need a ” look how much you did ” moment. I will get to the Cherry Coke Cake in a minute 😉
Sunday – Rest
Monday – Bootcamp class
Tuesday – Bootcamp, and walking around the lake ( 1.5 miles)
Wednesday- Bootcamp
Thursday- Bootcamp, walk to stretch
Friday, 2.25 mile walk to stretch out the sore muscles
Saturday- rest.
Sunday( today) – I NEEDed to do my 3 miles training run for Tink. What happened today was 2.2 miles of walking. I could not run. The pain in my shins and feet were almost unbearable. How after a rest day yesterday my body could be so angry.
*update* It is now 7:30pm I just got back from a 2 mile walk, and I had absolutely no pain at all. Until I took my shoes off and the Plantar pain…NO PAIN! How?! I am so confused. Excruciating pain earlier, and no pain at all now..same route. So confused.
So I had a wonderful day with my friend Andrea, we walked, talked, and I forced her to eat quinoa, feta and tomato stuffed peppers, and chicken. With our favorite wine of course. Took her to experience a small taste of commissary shopping. I spent 20 dollars when I went in for nothing. Happens every single time!
I also am trying my hand at the Cherry coke poke cake, again. Poke cakes are my favorite, and I am notorious for not following the recipe. Last time I made it I had no cherry coke, so you know.. It still tasted amazing!
My inspiration can be found here. Crazy for Crust is the website I found from pinterest with this recipe. I pin a lot of things, but I normally try every every baking and cooking recipe I pin. I should have documented this over the last few years, but I was not blogging then!
I used different ingredients than her original recipe you can find here.
I did run and get cherry coke this time. I do like the breyers cherry sundae topping as it is not stickly sweet and tastes delicious. I get that chocolate glaze instead of fudge and heat it in the microwave and squeeze right one- no coke added.
I also added some pie filling to the actual batter. It is baking right now I will be sure to add a picture on instagram and facebook with the full recipe I used. ps. it is gluten FREE!
Be sure to follow me on Instagram, and Facebook so you do not miss this amazing dessert.
How annoyingly weird with your shins…so frustrating! But you still covered over 4 miles today – good job!! 🙂
