Is your brain blocking you from losing weight? Check out my Review of Bright Line Eating by Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson

I was given a complementary copy to read before launch, I just really wanted to share this book with you all! I was not compensated or required to post this review.

I know this blog personally started out as a diary of my struggle to lose weight, and a place to vent my struggles, and share my victories. It has changed over the years, and I know showmeashley was always the right name for my blog. It stemmed from living in the “Show me” state, but it was also perfect for my little piece of internet. Discovering myself, journey to healthy, and sharing fun stops along the way. I WISH I would have found a book like Bright Line Eating: The Science of Living Happy, Thin, and free back then. I would not have been open to some of her ideas, but that makes sense when I look back at my relationship with food. Currently on the victory side of my weight loss, I found myself in the first few chapters of this book going ” YES YES YES!!” I have never related more. That is saying tremendous things for Dr. Susan’s book Bright Line Eating, because my Kindle/ book shelf is FULL of weight loss books!

Happy and thin for life
Your Brain and Food- your brain is blocking your weight loss Dr Susan is here to show you how to unblock it!

First stop go take this quiz– it will give you an idea of your suceptibility. Susan will give you the hard truth in her book- but she is also going to raise you up and let you know you can succeed.

This is a global movement to teach you to FREE yourself from food addiction. As a former drug addict Dr Susan discovered during her research that sugar and flour REWIRES YOUR BRAIN!

Which I now knew, but reading her book was nice to show her research behind how these two things are additive and how it connected with your score on the susceptibility.

The modern American diet, rife with flour and sugar, wires our brain to work against us. It hijacks our hormones and neurotransmitters, leaving us with insatiable hunger and overpowering cravings.

Listen- my husband and I had replaced our frozen cherries with Greek yogurt frozen bars and fudge pops. Soon meals that usually filled us until breakfast, we were “starving” by 10pm and after three days of endless late night snacking I decided it had to be the after dinner treats and sure enough it was messing with us during the day too.

So what can you expect ?

So our brains are blocking our weight loss – she has set up Bright Line Eating (BLE) to reverse that process! She helps you learn and implement how to heal your brain to shift into a mode to shed pounds, reduce cravings, and stop sabotaging weight loss goals.

Her program understands willpower cannot be relied on, and sets you up to be successful anyways! Tips on traveling, and how/what to pack, how to avoid food triggers, why gratitude helps with weight loss, and so much more!

You will learn how the role addictive susceptibility plays in your personal weight loss journey, where cravings come, how to require your brain so they will disappear, and more. Susan’s book guides you through phases of Bright Line Eating- from weight loss, maintenance, and beyond- the dynamic food plan will work for anyone whether Vegan, gluten free, pales, or none of the above.

I read this book in a day and I’ve been flipping back referring to it frequently. I will say the first half with all the science was my favorite. I do enjoy the self care and psychological tips throughout and think it is SO important for people to remember.

She has great blog and email posts every week that I truly look forward to receiving! Her vlogs make you feel like she is truly right there for you to help you, and her personality is just the sweetest!

What I didn’t like? The layouts or back part of the book- for something that is a handbook for the plan I just felt it could be better formatted. Weird but I think that’s the only way to explain how while I thought the info was good I had a hard time trying to get through it. It could be my copy was a pre release sent late last year to me- but it just could have been made into check lists or charts instead of what looked like word document lists for a few things.

That’s not a reason to bypass this book- it is a game changer for a game that desperately needs changing! This amazing book LAUNCHES TODAY!(amazon link)
