I will be 100% – This pregnancy has been so brutal on me I feel like I should be in the third trimester welcoming our newest little addition – it has felt like an ETERNITY.
Yes, I am thankful. Also yes- I have been cursed this go around with 24/7 nausea that in the last few weeks has finally relaxed on me. It only took the entire first trimester.
I thought I was nine weeks pregnant when I agreed to try Seabands from Momsmeet.com. I was desperate and barely surviving on Sonic ice with a lemon squeeze on it, Powerade, and sour hard candies. I honestly am surprised I didn’t end up in the ER a few times with how little fluids and lack of eating I was doing.
I was actually barely 6 weeks along when they sent it, my “viability” appointment at “12 weeks” was really me sitting at barely 7 weeks, and so my due date was DRAMATICALLY changed, and it just made my nausea feel like it would never go away as I was not almost out of the woods it was indeed just beginning.
Thank you so much to Moms meet and SeaBands for sending these products for free to try, and use in exchange for my review on momsmeet.com, compensation was provided for this post.
When I told my midwife I was surviving on a sprite, Powerade, and hard candies – she asked me to try tonic or club soda with lemon squeezed in… what?!
Gross. Also – no.
I am not sure why this pregnancy is so incredibly rough on me like last time it was pretty much smooth sailing the entire time minus persistent heartburn. I guess this baby will be bald, and this pregnancy not as comfortable.
I loved reading all the info on pressure points and Chinese medicine in the info they sent over. I mean if it helps- it’s so non-invasive and in my case- lacking sugar- It is a method that should be recommended to all in my opinion!
My cousin is a pharamacist, so naturally, I reached out begging for help. She gave lots of medical options, but as one who doesn’t dye my hair while pregnant, this time only drinking a cup of coffee a week ( last time ZERO), avoids any and all chemicals in place of essential oils, etc.— I am on the other side of that train. I sent her a snap when my SeaBands arrived, and she told me SO much about the pressure point it puts pressure on- and why it should.
Boy does it work!
It says it should work in 5-10 minutes, but to try to put them on before nausea starts. Since I didn’t sleep with them on it didn’t work out too well most days, and took more like 15-20 minutes for me to notice I could stand up and not feel like dying in the bathroom.
They sent me hard ginger lozenges and an essential oil for pregnant mamas suffering from morning sickness, and both made me sicker. BUT as someone who LOVES gingerale- I have not been able to drink and ginger sodas either – and they are usually my favorite. So I think it just happens to be my hormones because ginger everything is usually what I love to settle my stomach.
So if you struggle with nausea- you need to check SeaBands out! seabands.com
There was an Italian study that said over 70% of women struggling with morning sickness found relief with acupressure bands like SeaBands!
