First of all, Happy 4th of July!
I surprisingly in my 3 years here in Missouri, have never spent a 4th of July here. I consider myself to be pretty patriotic, and love fireworks so it is something I always look forward to. I still feel very new to military life, so I had no idea what to expect for this holiday. They went above and beyond providing a better firework display than Disney! Yes, let that sink in. Ok, It may not have been bigger, but it was free for everyone here who lives on base. They were comparable to Fireworks that I watched in Michigan last year, and Vegas the year before.
Taking a break and having a little fun is important. I know my husband is bummed he does not get holidays like most government employees, so I am trying to plan some fun things for his days off.
Taking a break.
While I know you are working really hard on your goals, hustling your way to being fit and making things happen. I just think taking a break to have some fun, can do volumes.
Going back to the goals we set on Days one, two, three the what, why, and how – all important. But, it is important to involve fun and excitement!
I use extra life goals because they are sort of the supporting role in your quest to change your life goals. Finding a way to make your goals fun is hard sometimes. Losing weight? You do not just have to park it on the treadmill for an hour a day and only eat salad. That is boring. You can add exciting fun events like learning a new sport, going on an active vacation, or just getting active with someone you love to get the bonus of quality time! It doesn’t have to be dramatic, even something small can make a big difference.
So, I want you to look at your goals if you are working along with me- could you add a fun element to your goal?
I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.
