Tip 3: Avoiding the Alcohol
I will admit. I love wine. I love red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, cheap wine, and I am a sucker for a “new” feature at the store. On an average month I probably go through a bottle or two. While the hubby is deployed I tend to hang out with others and we drink wine. I also enjoy it at parties, bubble baths, and right about now you are thinking I am an alcoholic! Well let me just say- I normally do not have more than 2-3 glasses and that is a splurge, I do mind the directions on my medications and make sure I do not get “drunk” . But my whole point- Especially during the holidays Alcohol is the staple it seems for all of the parties and get-togethers I attend!
So how to do you enjoy the festivities while watching the keg belly?
- Drink one glass of water for each alcoholic drink you have.
- Limit your alcohol to just a few drinks.
- Try the SKINNY version! There are so many amazing skinny versions of your favorite drinks, I promise there is something for you!
- Don’t drink at all! Yeah that will not work for me, but how about half of a drink or just one for the night. There are tons of low cal sparkly drinks that will satisfy the same feeling as that champagne 😉
So lucky for me I am in the first part of my cleanse in my 24 Day Challenge and I am not drinking any alcohol anyways and I do not mind. But I may at New years when I want a glass or 3 of champagne ;-).

Excellent tips. I’m a beer drinker and the occasional margarita. I do tend to go more towards the beer since it is far less calories than margaritas. And I can usually fit the beer into my caloric goals for the day. Occasionally I’ll splurge and have a margarita but not very often. And my drinking is usually limited to the weekends also.
That is super smart! Now a days I drink maybe once a month but with all these holiday parties…I am tempted way more!
Awesome tips! Red wine lover here … I have a small glass with dinner most nights (for the health benefits?). If we’re out with friends I am usually the DD for the night as I am no longer a young version of myself and recovering from a night out takes a week 😀
Hehe there are health benefits for red wine!! Proven!
I normally DD too! I am only 25 but it is just not the same as college 😉
