Tip 6 : WORK IT!
Haha. Ok so I have not been able to work out seeing as I was *this* close to a walking boot, and it is peak holiday season- I have primarily been focusing on food. I can look back at times in my life I was my healthiest and I had a great balance of food and exercise. It was always exercise more so I can eat what I want eventually. I mean I would lead a VERY healthy diet at times so I could enjoy my drunken bar night days. I loved college.
I decided since my appointment for the podiatrist was cancelled on me yesterday (really just want to get these shots over with!) that it gave me permission to walk. I decided to take a leisurely walk to the pharmacy to get my medications. It started out the foot in the hefty brace felt bad in the arch/ankle, then on the way home I pretty much wanted to chop this ankle off. It was a 5k walk, my fitbit flex has never gone past 3 lights before- little did I know there were 5!!
I was so good with my nutrition after this walk. I swear my bag of chocolate holiday flavors did not even temp me. So I started looking up recommendations for the holiday season.
The gym? Usually busy- now it seems to be empty!
I will admit I hate working out at the base gym. It is normally super busy and I just lose motivation waiting more than a few minutes for cardio machines or weights etc. It is just too busy. I went this morning and it was the usual time to be busy—Ghosts. I will continue to look at my own, but according to the lady at the desk- It is going to be pretty empty till the New Year. See for a super fit community of a military base – this baffles me but I will just utilize it till I go back to hiding in my house doing Jillian Michaels.
Big Mistake…
It is a HUGE mistake to hit snooze and snuggle up as temperatures drop, and foods get more rich. So in other words: Your metabolic rate is elevated for about 18 hours after working out give or take. Keeping to your normal workout schedule, or adding an extra one will not only increase your metabolism- it could possibly help aid you in avoiding/resisting the fattening food around you this time a year.
So I am LOVING my 24 Day Challenge, and it is going far more fabulous than I thought. I am not avoiding Dairy like it suggested, but I am happy with the results I am having thus far. I am really enjoying looking up tips, and sharing knowledge about avoiding holiday weight gain. If you have a tip you would like to feature please email me at [email protected] to get started 🙂
