2016 – Goals, Resolutions, and Gratitude.

New Year, New you?

No, me either. I always take a long time to get around to looking at the new year. My blog is a reference to that as each year I mosey around to making a goals post around the 20-27th of January. Go me for being dependable!

Last year I was consumed with wanting to be pregnant. Losing weight to get pregnant, saving every penny for if we needed more than just a pill intervention to get pregnant, getting rid of car debt in case we got pregnant. I was a one track minded lady.

This year I jotted down a few notes in my new iPhone I got a killer deal at Sams Club. BIG deal as we didn’t do Christmas as a little family, and I am a die-hard Galaxy user.

2016 Resolutions 🎉

resolution

  1. Contact a family member by phone daily.
  2. Lose 50 lbs.
  3. Write a budget monthly.
  4. Reorganize the blog and blog actual posts ( not just drafts) and find another hobby
  5. Better vocabulary / no swearing !!

So I want to be able to facetime/call people more. Facetime so people can see the little guy in live action vs just photos in our family facebook group.

I am not hung up on 50 lbs rather I just want to be healthier. 50 lbs seemed like a great goal to get me out of the morbidly obese category to just the obese BMI. It is sad seeing that the last time I was at the weight I am seeking I wore a size 8 and a small/medium t-shirt. How is that obese? ! Anyways. I just want health and that is what I am seeking. 70 lbs have dropped off from my body since giving Birth in November, so another 50 would be awesome, and in time for me to chase after my kiddo 😉

Finances- AH! When I am unemployed I go into I will work/do anything to not feel unemployed. I have the best job ever to be a mommy now, but I hate not contributing to our take home pay. We will survive on what we have, I just wish I could help ease things. So I plan to budget every penny and take more social media gigs as they are the most flexible for my life and keeping up with my little man.

I need a hobby. Daddy loves golfing and mommy…loves the internet? Which while true I want to figure out something to tell him other than I am always seeking my next Disney trip, and love to talk to people on twitter.

I don’t want Baby S’s first word to be F$#%! Blame whatever I think we sound ridiculous now that I have a little guy, and I want curse words out of our home. I never grew up around any cursing and I want to make sure I clean my mouth and my husbands for our little man. 🙂

Gratitude

I always like to silently or out loud(ly) pick a word to focus on the year. Keep me on track of personal growth, or whatever. The baby was my word last year I guess, and this year I would like to focus on Gratitude.

People who experience the most gratitude (and, therefore, the positive effects) tend to:

  • Feel a sense of abundance in their lives
  • Appreciate the contributions of others to their well-being
  • Recognize and enjoy life’s small pleasures
  • Acknowledge the importance of experiencing and expressing gratitude

I do not want to miss a moment of our little man’s life, our life, and enjoying our new state. I want to make sure I can recognize the little things and live for today. A lot of negative things are going around, people who can bring me down- intentionally or inadvertently, and I just want to live a life of happiness and to be able to move past negativity.

Do you set goals, or just try to live the new year with a new purpose?
