So I was not going to do this, as I have my husbands old crappy move the cord just right and it all shuts down computer… but I really wanted this little review for myself as 2013 was such a BIG year!
The year started with my then fiancée now husbands return from deployment!
We survived deployment number one! We then went home to visit with family and friends as a special treat after his return!
I turned 25!
Completed my first runDisney race, and my first ever half marathon!
Spent a week with my parents at Disney World.
Made the wine for my wedding with my mom and brother! ( Thanks mom for this AWESOME wedding gift. )
Had an AMAZING bridal shower, and got to spend it with my favorite family and friends. (thanks again mom for that and to all my bridesmaids that helped so much with it!)
Ate a lot of sushi..
With all the help of my family, I had a DIY wedding. ( Budget friendly, but not sanity saving !)
Had a great time at my Bachelorette in Downtown Detroit. (Yeah, I MAY or may not have been scared to go back to the car at night…)
Cried when I saw all the decorations put up( I left boxes of stuff for my family, and it ended up like this. I am SO lucky to have them… and well I tossed a few extra wine bottles their way
I married my best friend. It was by far the best day of my life.
Thanks to my parents for giving me the day of my dreams, and all the hands on work all my family did for this day. I could literally post 3000 pictures and still not be done with my wedding pictures… LOVE them. LOVE looking back at this day.
I had a mash up daddy daughter dance, It consisted of Heartlands- I loved her first—almost to completion and then a few different dances and songs. YES one of those -my dad and I did Gangnam Style …I promise I am trying to learn to edit video so I can share this little gem with you all!
We had our first real alone vacation as a couple to the USVI –St. Thomas and St. John for our honeymoon! We did an all inclusive resort, and literally had the time of our lives! The views were breathtaking, and it was so special. ( Although we paid for this, I have to thank my parents for making the trip possible. Without all their wedding help, it would not have been possible for us to leave the state, let alone the country!)
Lived a month in a hotel room in Las Vegas- Gambled for the first time. Played Black Jack once – and won a $1000. Used this money to enjoy Las Vegas and it’s surrounding attractions! It was like a month long honeymoon in some respects!
My dad came to Missouri for the first time since I have lived here! ( just passed 2 years people..) My husband and I not only LOOK like my parents, we both act like our counterparts as well. Eeek!
My husband deployed. Again.
I am currently still working on surviving deployment number 2!
Rounding off the year, in a normal Ashley fashion- I waited too long for flights, started freaking out about not getting home for the holidays, got lucky and got a First Class ticket direct to Michigan for 50 dollars more than the economy fare, got to see all my family, and READY to take on 2014.
I am sure I missed some fun things that were deserving of this recap, but I am going from pictures I randomly grabbed from Facebook, and again- I would fill this with the best day of my life marrying my love if I could.
2013 was wonderful, and I am SO excited for 2014. It is going to be incredible, and I can not wait! I am currently purging all my Real Simple magazines I hoarded ( Ok, so there are a few other magazines in there too) and are working on making a dream board, or vision board. What ever you want to call it. I was inspired by some other bloggers and think I would like to have it to compare for next year!
Ok, I should get back to making my New Years cards for people ( Yes. I KNOW it is belated – All of January is the new year though!!) I totally missed the ball on Christmas cards.
Love this! Hiking at Red Rock Canyon was Dan’s and my first date!
What an AMAZING first date!
Very cool recap! 2013 was great! Cheers to an even better 2014, with double the Disney! 😉
Thank you! Cheers!
You looked so beautiful in your wedding pics! Seems like an awesome year and we definitely had some similar events happen 🙂
Thank you 🙂 We did we did!
Loved looking back on your year! Happy New Year, Ashley!
